Besides the obvious Sega CD, 32x, and Virtua Racing incompatibility issues that the Model 3 Genesis has, are there any other games that do not work with it? The reason I ask is that I have a buyer who bought a copy of Golden Axe 2 from me, and is claiming that it is slowing down and having other issues. As someone who has owned or played most of the genesis library, I have never come across the kind of problems he is describing in normal units. Additionally, I remember playing this game and it worked fine on a model 2. Does anyone have any input about this?

did you ask him specifically if he is using a Genesis 3 or a Genesis clone at all?

Yes. He confirmed he is using a Genesis 3. I just need someone else to confirm that this game has some incompatibility.

could it be a six button mode issue?

Wiki claims Gargoyles is one of them. I have a model 3, but never owned Gargoyles, so I can't say if its true or not.
The Golden Axe 2 thing is, I believe, more of a six button controller issue, but I thought that would at least be bootable without the controls being functional. Then again, who knows.

If it is the 6 button controller issue, tell him to hold in the mode key when he starts up the game

I know Forgotten Worlds acts funky on Nomad/Gen3. You get the title screen, press start, you get a second of blank screen, the Game Over screen, and then dumped back to the title. It's pretty odd. Mode doesn't correct for it either.

That is the six-button problem with that game, actually. Yes, Forgotten Worlds goes straight to the Game Over screen when you use a 6-button controller with it without holding down Mode when you turn the system on.

Hmm... Gonna have to try it again then.

I had the same thing happen to me a few times with the six button controller and I can confirm it. Holding mode when I turn the Genesis on and letting go after the Sega logo usually fixes it for me, though. Strider also has the same issue with the 6 button. I noticed Lightning Force and Ms. Pac-Man have control issues with the 6 button that are resolved by holding down mode before the title screen, but I only had the Lightning Force issues with the Ascii 6 button stick.

The only other thing that I know has compatibility issues that hasn't been listed is the Game Genie.
