I saw this on TV Thursday, their site has a quicktime version of it in case you haven't seen it yet. Pretty cool stuff, always fun to see classic gaming in mainstream advertising.

i remember when getting a "hummer" had a whole different meaning ;)

i like this ad, i like their other ads, they're cleverly done. i just hate the product when i see it on the road, only rainier wolfcastle should drive one of these. i find it interesting that the ultimate status SUV is targeted towards classic gamers, does madison avenue know something i dont? speaking of targeting our demographic check out this bit on G4TV business plan.

"Gamers are the most educated media consumers out there," said Victor Lucas, the 35-year-old co-host of G4's game review show, "Judgment Day." "TV is the perfect medium to reach players and to tell them what is coming up and to create a forum as well."

Yep. I was hoping it would slip into a Sinistar game, and then...

Regarding the names of these products- in a local CVS, right out on the shelf, was a product proudly displaying its name: NADS!

Then there was that billboard: "Pork! The one you love!"

These people have got to hire someone under the age of 50 to check into these names...

My wife is just learning about classic games. Saturday night I whipped out the Vectrex and showed her Minestorm in order to show her what a vector game is... then this commercial came on the next night and she said "hey look, Vectrex! You said we'd never see anything Vectrex!"

The new hummers just look stupid IMO, the whole reason they were cool is BECAUSE they were 10 feet wide, now they look like they could topple taking ANY corner....

I drive a Hummer. I removed the catalytic converter, and the muffler. I inserted a dirty air filter to make it even more fuel ineffecient. My car gets 2.3 miles to the gallon(Hwy) and produces 7000 pounds of carbon emissions a year. I painted it with special lead paint that flakes off. I use it to tailgate Yugos and electric cars.

Thanks for the update! The link was right at one time, but my original post was from June... maybe they got so many hits from Digital Press that it was killing their bandwidth!

Maybe now.
