This may sound odd, but the other day I decided to time myself to see how long it would take me to get through the NES version of Shadowgate. I started a new game and was finished in 22 minutes - got all the essential items, didn't die once and didn't backtrack unless I absolutely had to.

Has anyone else ever timed themselves to see how fast they can complete a game? I think I tried it once or twice with Adventure and Superman for the 2600 back in the early '80s, but I'll be damned if I can remember what those times were.

I times myself trying to get through Super Mario level 1-1 the fastest. I think I had likt 278 left on the timer......I also think I beat the game in like 6 or 7 minutes with warping. Can't remember, ill have to do it again for you.

My friend Ron used to come over here to play Nintendo...But everytime he wanted to time himself playing through Super Mario Bros.
What stunk about it was he would start over and over numerous times if he made the slightest mistake..asking me to watch and time him all damn day :D ...

I used to time myself in Super Mario World on SNES. I beat it with the minimum number of levels (I think its twelve?) in under 20 minutes. I don't remember the exact time, because it was years ago. I haven't played this game in ages. Maybe its time to give it another go-through? :D I'm not sure if I even remember the secrets to get to Bowser so quick.

It is my life goal to get my time down on Ninja Gaiden 2 as far as possible. So far, I can beat it in 13:59, skipping all cinema scenes.

I can beat Duck Tales 2 in about 13 minutes. I played SMB1 the other day, and beat it with warping in 9:48.

Yeah, I do that for several games, mostly Atari 2600. The only way I play Pitfall II is with a stopwatch. And only a perfect score counts. So far my best time is 12:53:22.

I'm mastered the first couple levels of Sonic 1 for Genesis. I can beat the first three in :28, :26 and :47, times which are more or less perfectly fast.
