....found a Master System a few weeks back for $3 at a swap meet...thought i'd go and buy myself some games now i have some spare $$$....went down to a local gametraders to maybe plunge $5-$10 a game....but they were closing down....all master system games were $2 each in clear plastic clearance bins at the front of the shop.

$50 later and now i have a pretty decent collection! i love finds like that...might go back today to plunder some $5 NES games and $2 2600 games, too.

anyway, just thought i's share the joy :)

If you don't mind telling other Australians, which state and store was shutting down? I'll be traveling soon and might have the opportunity to reach some of the victorian stores. My state unfortunately doesn't have any Gametraders but I got a cheap SMS lot ($25AUD for a SMS2 w/~12 decent games) a while back which gave my collection a good start.
I'd recommend you pick up as much NES stuff as possible, they're impossible to find where I live and have far better resale than SEGA cartridges

About two years ago, a guy was getting rid of his entire Sega video game collection on ebay. Surprisingly, he actually took the time to list each item individually, rather than posting them in lots. Because of this, some of the auctions seemed to go fairly unnoticed and I ended grabbing a huge amount of titles from him, along with a SMS console in near perfect condition (a small scratch on the bottom of the unit).

It's been a while, so I don't remember exactly which titles I got from him. I do know that for ~$200US I got the system and just over 140 games (combination of SMS and Genesis) including shipping.

It's for reasons like this that I refuse to stop searching eBay for deals. I've made too many great finds on there.

That makes me very, very sad. At the very least, couldn't you have donated it to charity?
