View Full Version : What's up at GameStop?
Saw these yesterday there:
Dracula (Sega Genesis) CIB $2.99
same game, SNES loose $4.99
What's up? I assume they play the same- is the SNES version that much more rare? Or do they have some blanket policy that SNES games cost more?
BTW, I bought the Sega version... :-D

Gamestop has been trying to phase out Genesis for a few years.

On a Gamestop related note, yesterday they told me you can now return any game (new or used) within 7 days for exchange with something different if you don't like it for any reason. Sounds like one of their better policies...

Actually, that's the old policy. Ask some people here, they hated it. It should read "opened software & hardware will be exchanged with the same thing within 7 days" Used carry the 90 day warranty.

You can return loose used SNES and Genesis carts if you don't like the game, I did it a few weeks ago with D&D: Eye of the Beholder because I wasn't sure if it was a Capcom port of the arcade game or an RPG. It was a really outdated RPG.

It is true that Gamestop has been phasing out the Genesis for years, and yes they value SNES games more. As for the seven day policy, I HATE IT. I was an assistant manager for about a year and a half, and all the policy did was let people pirate games easier. It was soooooooooo abused, that we actually had to refuse retruns on SEVERAL people that took extreme advantage of it. I have two stored by where I live...........I absolutely love the people(I help get some of them hired) but the company is pretty unethical and crude...........Nuff said, I know I am rambling!!!!!

Yeah, in fact I really hammered it home with the staff there to make sure I was getting it. They said very clearly, "Try it out, if you don't like it you can exchange it for a DIFFERENT game", new or used, kinda surprised me. I remember years ago in college working for The Warehouse (music store) where we had the same policy once. Once...

I'd assume the cart you're exchanging would be of equel or less price an dpossibly the same system then?

Our local Gamestop carries about a dozen SNES , NO NES, and NO genesis, they stopped about Christmas.
