Whenever a new series comes out based on a game I'm a fan of, I always watch the shows, then kick myself for not taping them. Besides the 10 or so Mega Man episodes I've got taped and the handful of Sonics (the good Saturday morning one), I've got nothing. I'd kill to get my hands on the Earthworm Jim series (well no, but I want those shows badly!) Anyway, I decided not to let this happen with the brand spankin' new Kirby series, which made its debut this morning.

Somehow, I wish I forgot to set the VCR.

Ok, let's say something nice - the animation was good. In fact, really good. I thought it was a pretty show to look at.

Ok, enough nice crapola. Since when was Kirby a Pokemon? Now, I didn't expect Kirby to speak like a professional wrestler or anything, but when he started spitting out single-word lines in a very high frequency voice, I got rather disappointed. The evil king sounds like he's fresh out of Mardis Gras (sorry anyone from New Orleans.) The whole show was just bleck. Yes, I know it's geared towards Pokemon-loving children, but dammit, Kirby was ours before they were born, sort of. I think this show could've been a lot better...

*Nasty critic mode off*

So, did anyone else see it? ; )

yeah, i saw a preview of it in a special called "The Fox Box". Hosted by the two kids that are in spy kids. you know, the kids you just wanna beat the crap out of. anyway, it previewed saturday morning fox cartoons. anyway, the preview was TOTALLY AIMED FOR KIDS. (kids being 3-12) it was pretty pokecrappy.

Its a saturday morning cartoon of course its aimed for kids. I haven't seen it yet though. You got to admit though that jigglypuff and Kirby look an awful lot alike.

Yeah, I was thinking Jigglypuff the entire time myself...

And while I agree that it is intended for kids, I do think that many kids' shows have been written well enough to be enjoyable for a broad audience. This one was just lame... even for a kids' show.
