View Full Version : Can anyone confirm that MVS multicarts will run on an AES with a converter?

I been searching around... Not finding anything definitive. I've seen people demoing them on their MVS hardware and I know of at least one that has an extra board connected to the main cart that I'm 100% certain wouldn't run on AES. It took me forever to finally get into an AES, I don't want to invest into anything where I'll need to get an MVS this soon. If an MVS is required, I can wait and I still have plenty of AES carts to hunt down in the meantime. So, what's the skinny? I'm fairly sure that if they will work then the memory card will function properly as well through the AES, but if you have confirmation on that part too that would be nice to know as well.

I saw a comment recently that the multicarts don't launch games in AES mode through a converter. They boot to MVS attract mode and you can't insert credits or set them for freeplay. Don't know if that happens with every multicart or with every converter, but someone tried and it didn't work...

Thank you very much. So, there are at least some multicart/converter combos that don't jive. That's very helpful, for a start. And much better info than I pulled up through google. :)

I don't think you'll ever get an absolute answer on this... this seems totally like a YMMV question.
