It's over 9000!!!!! literally. All you have to do is find out the production numbers of NES Action Set systems.

Well, according to my sources on craigslist, it's an ultra rare cart that goes for over $200 loose. There have been reports of lucky people finding the game for $3 in the wild, and trying to sell it for $30 on craigslist. Unfortunately, they don't seem to sell too often at this bargain, as people are not aware of the vast fortune this game brings.

I concur with your sources as my source, eBay, also lists these ultra-rare carts at over 200 dollars, loose.

Sadly, I threw my non-working copy into the backyard in 1991. I didn't know they were rare. I thought they made millions of them over at Nintendo.

It is the most valuable Nintendo NES game, or any game in existence quite frankly. Only one is known to exist on this face of the Earth- and it is kept locked up in a secret facility in Roswell (Area 51?). It is valued at $100000000000000000 US cash.

Anyone actually know the answer to how many carts were produced?

I heard a couple million carts were buried in a desert in New Mexico and filled over with cement. Is that part true? We should hire the dude from Dig Dug to help us unearth them so we can make 2k monies.

I hear if you've got ten of them, you can buy a mansion made out of Rolls Royce parts.

When the end of the world comes, there will be a pallet full of SMB/DH carts sitting next to an empty fallout shelter and a family of cockroaches.

Okay so when it comes to something like Stadium Events you guys can immediately pull an exact figure from your ass based on however many you saw on ebay
But you just troll and shitpost when there's a question about a game people have actually heard of? I'm not following the logic here.

Serious answer: There are likely millions of SMB/DK carts out there because it was the pack-in game for the NES for a long time. Every serious collector has probably had a bunch of them at some point or another.

I don't think there are many people who care how many were producted exactly, but usually the rarer the game, the more interested people are in pulling numbers out like how many are known to exist/production numbers and stuff like that.

How is it possible to call established members of a gaming forum trolls when you have 9 posts? Are you new to the internet?

To me it sounds like you posted a question that you know people wouldn't take seriously, so you can then mock their knowledge of video games.

To me it sounds like you posted a question that you know people wouldn't take seriously, so you can then mock their knowledge of video games.Or, perhaps, a lot of the veteran members of this forum (like most gaming forums) are jaded and moved by some fraternal impulse to mock and/or ridicule a new member who asked what could well be a legitimate (if not popular) question.

I don't know if he/she was genuinely curious or not, but I'd rather be hospitable and give them the benefit of the doubt than go the paranoid/elitist nerd route. I've often wondered how many of this and other pack-in titles were produced as well, after all -- especially with the stories of those superfluous ET catridges for the 2600.

Whether it was a troll attempt (which I'm not so quick to assume) or not, it's hardly an unreasonable question/curiosity.

For an honest answer:
Guiness World Records states 40.23million for Super Mario Bros. pack-in:
http://web.archive.org/web/20060317005503/http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/content_pages/record.asp?recordid=52404

I'm not sure if that's accounting for Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, just the original game, or for all variants.

Maybe if Pancake Bunny posted something as simply as "Actually I'm serious does anyone know?" Instead of the "pulling figures out of your ass" confrontational tone that he/she took, it could have turned out differently.

I'll bet that if the OP was more along the lines of:

I've often wondered how many of this and other pack-in titles were produced as well, after all -- especially with the stories of those superfluous ET catridges for the 2600.

...instead of just a bunch of symbols, it would have been taken more seriously. Is it any wonder there are so many joke posts before any real answer? It seems like most everyone read it the same way.
