Sorry to go off topic, but if I have the OP on Ignore, why do I still see this thread?

Because Nintendo loves you.

For what its worth, I've been listing several PS3 and gaming-related items on craigslist, and people keep offering to trade me their Wii for them. I got three offers just today from three different people. I guess many people are starting to get Wii-fatigue? I know, anecdotal evidence, but I found it humorous nonetheless.

Unless Nintendo can produce something as popular as Wii Fit this year, you'll be able to get Wii's at yard sales for $20 next year.

Let's see, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is coming out and so is the new Metroid game. On top of that, it is possible that Zelda may be coming out during the holidays. Sounds like three multi-million sellers to me. As a hardcore gamer, I am also excited about Sin & Punishment and Trauma Team. Yes, casual gamers who have no interest in gaming may dump their Wiis, but they aren't exactly going to run out and buy a 360 or PS3 either. The Wii is a great system and there are plenty of reasons to use it on a regular basis along with the PS3 and 360.

Monster Hunter Tri is supposed to be a big release, too.

There would be more of such games. But the only wii game which I play at present is:
Castlevania Judgment

Its fun to play it.

Even if you haven't played it this year (I'm in that group as well), it doesn't make sense to me to jump out of the platform because of that. I think the recent releases make this, arguably so, the start of prime Wii time... I just haven't forked over the dough to buy into the software. I'm focused on other things for now. Like completely changing over my display set-up and just got into a new-to-me, old-to-others system... Maybe I just don't get why not doing something because you have other, maybe ATM preferred, things going on can be considered a bad trait of the thing that's not being done. By that logic, I should have traded off my SMS carts at least two years ago and I should just chuck my N64 stuff in the trash.

I haven't turned mine on since last May I think so it's almost been a full year. I had my niece and nephew down from Tokyo for Golden week last year thats why I remember it was May lol.

Nothing wrong with the system though. I only have sports and mario galaxy which I got bored of. Plus my system is an American one so it's not like I can run to yamada denki and buy new games for it.

I should be getting that new super mario brothers wii though from the us for a birthday present... need to buy a bigger than 19" tv though!

I just got the Wii last month so It's still new to me. I have been using it almost every day. At first I was playing a lot of Mario Kart but that gets really frustrating online after awhile. Lately I have been using it to play NES and SNES games via Emulation. I do have Mario Galaxy and NSMB wii for it that I haven't tried yet but really should soon.

Yup. I play it almost anytime I'm home or free. I love the system despite what many people feel about it.

Here's some good games to play

Muramasa
No More Heroes
Zack and Wiki
Fragile Dreams

I just bought one, so yes. I only played it once so far, though, and then after realizing the Wii didn't look -that- bad on my HDTV, even through composite, I hooked my PS2 up through component and started playing that. And now I've spent three days trying to beat Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones.

That's probably not the greatest start. There are some Wii games I think are probably must haves, though, that's why I bought the console. I have to admit that the sheer volume of shovelware on the shelves when I went to pick out another game for the thing was depressing and started to make me worry about the purchase. It really seems like there's a lot of chaff with this here wheat.

Of course. The Data East Collection means Magical Drop goodness. That + Hori Stick = as close to a Neo Cab as we're getting until we've got a house.

I haven't yet, but when Monster Hunter Tri comes out it will probably be the only system I play for the rest of the year.

I've actually been incredibly paranoid about playing the Wii ever since I made a major investment in a new HDTV, because everyone I know is a little overzealous when they flail their controllers around.

Those who don't use it often are likely also those who aren't going to be really into a gaming forum like this, or are just going to come in here to "Bash" the Wii for "not having any good games this year" which is bollocks.

I don't own a Wii.

A pretty broad generalization coming from someone who doesn't even own the system. For the record, I own a Wii, PS3, XBOX 360 and dozens of other systems. The majority of my recent gaming has been either on the PC or 360.

It's been almost 2 years now since I last turned mine on, and the sad thing is that someone bought me New Super Mario Bros. for my birthday back in December, and I still haven't opened it. Before that came out, there was no "must have" game for it that I was going to run out and buy.

I have several games for it, but most are party games for when the family gets together, but even for them the novelty has worn off and people don't even ask to play it anymore when they come over.

Personally I think Blaster Master Overdrive is reason enough to at least turn on your Wii as of recently :)

I think I havent touched my Wii for more than a year but soon as Monster Hunter Tri comes out (in a week or 2) I will play it every day.

I'm probably an outlier but yes, I play the Wii all the time. I just love the games for it and I'm more of an old school gamer. In fact, I'm so sick of all the DLC bs and online idiots that I've decided to sell my 360 and PS3 because I simply haven't used them in a long time except for netflix. I have a gaming PC rig for graphics, no need for these things anymore.
