I think I remember hearing about this. A new Apogee Software company licensed the Duke rights from 3D Realms before DNF was cancelled; they said they were working on a set of handheld games for DS and PSP. This must be the first of them.

Yup, there's a trilogy of portable Duke games for PSP and DS, Critical Mass being the first.

Was supposed to have come out last Summer, then delayed to October, then delayed to Q1, now delayed to July, etc etc etc

If another company owns the license, 3D Realms has no say in spinoff games. When they were disbanded, I believe that their parent company retained the rights to the series.

It's not so much that it took Duke Nukem Forever to reach Critical Mass, quite the other way around. If Duke Nukem ever reaches Critical Mass, we just might get blasted into Forever, and still be home in time for Oprah.

Actually Duke nukem forever hasnt been cancelled,from what ive heard Duke nukem forever was being taken over by 2K games,3d realms are now trying to sue 2k games over this.

It will never come out i dont think,but hey have hope lol!
