I only have wireless PS2 controllers for some reason, so today I picked up a silver Sony 'Force 2' controller at Target for $15 on clearance. The controller & packaging look exactly like the Dualshock 2's but it just says 'Force 2' on the box and there's a Katana logo in the upper right corner near the hang tab.
I googled before posting and couldn't find much info on the Force 2. Is it basically the same controller as the Dualshock 2 or are there some differences?

I'd assume that they are different, since one is done by Sony and the other is Katana. I know that Katana a few years ago got 3rd party rights from Sony to make controllers, controller condoms, memory cards and other accessories. They carry a Sony license sticker on them, so i'd assume that they are at least good quality, since Sony isn't known for authorizing crap accessories.

Ahh, thanks for the info. I didn't realize that Katana was a 3rd party manufacturer. I only saw the Katana the logo on wireless Dualshocks and 16/32mb memory cards, so I just assumed that was just Sony's name for higher-end PS2 accessories.

It's officially licensed and the best PS2 wireless controller.
