Thanks I try to keep it organized but it's pretty hard sometimes.

Very nice you need more sega cd games but that's just me.

I'd love to get more sega cd games but since I don't like dealing with ebay alot I have to wait and find them locally and sadly they don't show up that offten.

That is a great looking collection. Do you have a main focus for it?

hmm you know I really don't have a focus for my collection. I don't really focus on one console or one genre and i'm not a completest. I just buy games that I think would be fun/interesting or something I know is obscure/rare. So having said all that I guess the focus of my collection is having fun. I would like to complete my Virtual Boy collection someday tho.

Thanks the only problem with the snes games is that about half of the back row is sports games.LOL

Thanks for posting your collection. There should be more of these threads, it's always interesting to see what other gamers are into. BTW, what do your relatives think of the extent of your hobby?

Very nice you need more sega cd games but that's just me.Unless it's more about playing games than just collecting them. I don't mean that as a quip, it's just that some collectors focus more on chronicling/preserving the history, or just padding their collections with sheer volume (or chasing rarities, which is also fun), while others mainly focus on acquiring what they actually want to play...and there are only so many hours in a day to play games after all. As much as I enjoy the handful of decent SEGA CD games, there really aren't enough to warrant tracking them down at a fevered pace, unless you're hardcore.

My dad thinks i'm obsessed.

My one Uncle thinks i'm wasting my time playing "those dumb games".

My Mom takes a little pride in my collection since she helped me build my collection (i'd tell her what games i'm interested in and when she finds them she buys them for me (only when I have the money to pay for them of course LOL) and she's actually the one who suggested that I take the pictures.

The rest of my familly is pretty neutral about my gaming/collecting habbits.

How old are you, BTW, and how long have you been collecting video games if you don't mind he asking?

Also, do you have a favorite system?

I'm 17 I've been collecting for about 6 years but i've been playing for 12. I don't really favour one console more than another.

I was going thru some pictures on my harddrive and I found this picture of my game room from 3 years ago.

Only 17, with all of that retro gear? That's pretty impressive. A lot of that stuff is older than you (but I'm sure you heard that before). From those pictures is seems you're definitely a lot more organized now.

That little black Yoshi is pretty nice. And what's that cool little hammer thing on your shelf from?

I have heard that many times before.

yeah I had alot of stuff in my room that I needed to get rid of so that gave me alot more room to store stuff gaming and otherwise.

And what's that cool little hammer thing on your shelf from?

That's from Mario Power Tennis on Gamecube they were giving them away with happy meals at Mcdonalds at one point but I got that hammer from a local thrift store.

Being only 17 makes this more amazing. I'm 17, I don't have nearly this much stuff, and most of its in my closet because my house is small and I have to share room :(

I'm a sega cd guy maybe it's nostalgia but i looooooove playing sega cd playing the retartded full motion video games give me huge memories me and my wife were playing wirehead last night.I Man, I hated those crappy FMV Digital Pictures games. I did like the 32X version of Night Trap though, I won't even deny that. I've never played Wirehead. There's isn't much middle ground in the SEGA CD library, IMO. Most of the games are either pretty good or really terrible.

This is going to sound really cheesy but it really dosen't matter how many games you have as long as you play and enjoy the ones you have.

But if you want to build up your collection the only advice I have is to hit up yard sales, flea markets and thrift stores on a regular basis buy anything that's cheap that looks interesting and don't be picky about condition. that's how I built up my collection. and for the space issue well you'll have to be creative when thinking about new places to store new games.

Is the Apex you have there is 24 inch, svideo and 3 composite/mono ins and one composite/mono out? If so its the same one I have from 2003. If so they are really nice sets for sdtv gaming after you calibrate them correctly. They were originally marketed more as monitors by the company then typical Tvs. There is a stereo revision of it that was released also.

I typically keep the one here set at 28 for the brightness, 22 for contrast, 28 for color and 56 for sharpness. If by chance yours is the same, and you don't like the image your getting, try that or something close and see if it works for you. The preset modes were horrible. All they did was jack the brightness and contrast up way way too much. There is a factory setting access code also if you need to adjust the image width, ect. I dont recommend you messing with it though unless you have some video calibration disc laying around to use as you do it.

I enjoy the 3do one the most, looks the cleanest...I've never played the 3DO version of Night Trap to compare, but I'll grab it one of these days if I come across it for cheap.

God the more i think about it the 32x is awful, i mean it truly was a piece of crap. It's right up there with the virtual boy.I'm not sure I'd take it that far. Granted, the 32X was a logistical nightmare, with all of the cables and adapters and what have you, but at least there were a couple of decent games for it. The Virtual Boy on the other hand was terrible on all fronts. There really aren't any redeeming points for that contraption, IMO, unless you're assigning points for oddness and camp.

Nice collcetion.

Show your dad the galleries page if he thinks your obsessed.

Looks like you'll need a bigger room soon. Make sure it's much bigger (I learned my lesson), because you may be obsessed and you never know when you might want an arcade cabinet added to your collection...

Yeah I don't have alot of spce left in my room but sadly this is the biggest bedroom in the house (thanks to the nook where my TV is) so i'm going to have to keep it for now. I'm actually thinking about putting shelving on the bare part of the wall behind my bed.LOL

Your right on the money except my tv dosn't do svideo.

Thank you for the suggestions on the settings i've messed around with the setting alot and i've gotten it to a point were I like the picture. It's a good tv but it's a little embarrassing loking at most peoples game rooms and their tv's are big lcd tv's and i'm stuck with a tv from the 90's.LOL

Looks great dude! I have far less overall, but far more NES and GENESIS stuff. My main problem is the lack of bookshelves for it all. I keep buying games, and just sticking em neatly in crates. One day, I'll take the time to organize them properly. Again though, your collection is really sweet.
