On to the second best Mega Man. My vote goes for 3. Some of the most challenging levels in a Mega Man game.

Honestly man, this thread is kinda pointless, as it's clear in the other thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=143116) what we think the 2nd best Mega Man game is... and 3rd and so on.

I don't mean to spoil your fun, but I know I'm not the only one who doesn't want to see 10 of these threads. That's a whole lot of clutter. The other thread is perfectly fine as it is.

To me, ranking the Mega Man series is about as pointless as ranking the Mario Party games. They're all pretty much the same, except for the first one. Some of the later ones are arguably better than Mega Man 2 and 3, but they didn't come out in the heyday of the series, so people don't have the same fond memories.

Not true. This is the only way to determine the opinion people have on Mega Man games. A single poll means nothing, and here's why.

13 people voted for Mega Man 2 in the original poll. 11 people voted for Mega Man 3. 5 people voted for Mega Man 5.

Now, just because Mega Man 3 placed 2nd in that poll, that doesn't mean that the people who voted for Mega Man 2 consider Mega Man 3 to be the 2nd best. Likewise for Mega Man 5.

Mega Man 5 placed 3rd in the original thread. However, when we get to the 3rd best Mega Man thread, the original 13 people who voted for Mega Man 2 might vote for Mega Man 1 or Mega Man 4 when that thread arrives.

All the first thread proves is what people think is number 1.

I disagree. I understand what you're saying, but to me it's just silly. Imagine if I created a series of threads like this for Final Fantasy. And then someone else did the same for Resident Evil. That's dozens of polls floating around for no reason. One poll given a large amount of time to generate votes will show you exactly what the general consensus is on ranking that series.

If you want to nitpick and be scrupulous about where each game rightfully belongs in the ranking, I'm afraid you'll never really know for sure. You are surveying a somewhat small group of gamers here compared to the millions out there.

No disrespect to Malon_Forever, I just don't see the point in all of this. But if the moderators are OK with it and others are game, I'll shut up and play along.

There are episodic threads here, like 3MC. He's only doing 9 threads total, and only once every few days, so I fail to see how this would be significant clutter.

This. Also, I think MM2 is the second-best MM game but I couldn't vote for it, so I sarcastically voted for MM10.

There is no way to infer from the other polls what the 3rd most popular mega man game is going to be. It was pretty clear which one would get 2nd from the votes from the first one, but after that it seems completely open so these threads do seem pretty interesting.
