Best place to buy a replacement SNES AC adapter?

Did a bit of searching, but didn't see anything on this topic, so my apologies if this is a redundant thread.

Anyway, the other day, I tried to power up my SNES, only to find it wouldn't turn on. I've tried plugging it in a couple of different outlets, to no avail. I assume the AC adapter is fried. Where's the best place to pick up a replacement? I'd rather not deal with Ebay at the moment, and Amazon only seems to have sketchy, third party plugs available.

Any help pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated. :)

If you were in the UK I would have said I have one available, however it is no use to you being in the USA.

Alternative though - the SNES adaptor converts to 9v AC (yes, I said AC not DC) and feeds to a few components to convert inside the SNES console into DC, where it gets converted via a 7805 into 5v, which the SNES runs off.

So, if you are happy to, you can connect a power supply you have lying around that is between about 7.5v and 12v DC directly to the 7805 and power your system that way - saves buying expensive AC-AC SNES adaptor to make it work.

Your SNES AC adapter might just have a loose wire. Plug it in and flip the switch on, and wiggle the cord around and see what happens.
