After seeing numerous video of this game, I had to post about it. While the game is not out yet, I am mildly curious about this game for unique reasons. So far from what I have seen, this game might get a vote for me as "terrible games that you must play and view". For this reason, and seeing that the game's retail price will be $30, I have decided to be optimistic about the game being terrible, and finding it cheap to add to the collection. Have you ever been excited about a game being awful so that you can make fun of it? Xbox Drake and the 99 dragons comes to mind.

It gave me a flashback to the early 90s when everybody and their mother was making fighting games and trying to come up with "badass" characters. Even if it's terrible, it won just for taking me back to those days when I'd open an issue of Nintendo Power or Game Informer and see a spread for some Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat knockoff.

At least we now know where the "War Gods" engine ended up.

Yeah, that does look bad. The only question is, will it be just awful or fun awful... we'll see I guess.

That game looks horribly stupid.

So, I want it, of course.

I was thinking the same thing. I can only hope that this game plays as stupidly as it looks and sounds.

When this was announced, I was hoping it would be a semi-realistic gladiator combat game with some semblance of historical accuracy. That would have at least been somewhat fresh. Y'know, create your own gladiator with customized armor, choose a fighting style, and be pitted against other gladiators? Maybe a storyline that allows you to fight for your freedom, or instead for glory and riches? Could have been pretty interesting. Instead, they've turned it around and made it completely over the top, which ruins any chance of having something original or unique. Now it's just somewhere between Time Killers and Soul Calibur.

Also, whatever manager was in charge of the voice acting really needs to be fired.

Grab Colosseum: Road to Freedom for PS2.
Actually quite good.

(for some reason, I could only find the Japanese preview)

THIS...IS...SHOVELWARE!

Actually, the animations look pretty good. High Voltage seems to really believe in having great games on Wii and The Conduit was good, so maybe this will be fun for a little while. At least they didn't price it at $50.
