What's the last game that you've played again, even after beating and clearing it? I am not talking about unlocking new characters or anything like that. I am talking about games that were so good that you played it again, even though there was nothing new to unlock. These games are my favorite ones, and ones that I really try to find.

For me, a recent example was Jet Set Radio (Jet Grind Radio). Even after beating the game, I must have played this at least four more times through again. There was essentially nothing new to unlock, and beating the game with the other characters added some challenge, but it was mainly because the game was so fun that I was doing it.

Another one is Rez. I unlocked everything a long time ago, but I still continue to play the game for reasons that are obvious.

Any other examples?

I played Dragon Warrior over a couple of times and I also played DW1 & 2 when they came out for GBColor. GB ones were simple, they were like short versions of the game.

Deus Ex and System Shock 2 are the two that I've played through more than once recently. SS2 I've even gone through 3 times or so, once multiplayer with a friend - that was awesome. He was a psi / navy techie with lasers and I was a marine with lots of guns and weapons mod skillz. We rocked the casbah.

I played through Maniac Mansion a few times to see the different endings - I suppose that doesn't count, although I did see them back in the day. I think I played through the original Unreal again recently, too. Other than that there isn't too much that will cause me to pick up a game again. Metroid Fusion was good but way too frustrating to want to play again - I'm going through Prime and that one is a lot of fun. I'll probably want to finish that again.

I could probably play through the Mark of Kri every week for the next few years. Probably my favorite game for this generation of consoles. No sequel thanks to lackluster sales, damn everyone!

Final Fantasy 7, I missed a lot of the side quests. World War Three for the Sega CD, I popped that in after abot 8 years last month, damned fine. SSX, Tony Hawk, a bunch others. It's like visiting an old friend.

Halo...with all the games I own....I still seem to pop this game back in the Xbox..just to try and do new things, bring the vehicles into places they weren't meant to go and play through some of the levels that I enjoy more..

I find things in the game that amaze me..
Last night I started "Assault on the control room" again..I did several new things.
When you start the level if you don't jump out of the ship it will take you real high in the tunnel and then you die..if you jump early enough you will land on a lower level..but you still die...Well, I'm trying not too die.(note this is a glitch in the game that doesn't always occur)I think I coase this glitch by not letting two marines die that are supposed to die in the previous mission...
I force the jeep into places with them that the game doesn't recognize..causing a glitch.

Then as you get to the first bridge where you hit the sleeping enemies in the head..If you go to the left wall and jump down to the wall ledge before the Marine ship you need to rescue lands (being carefull)..you can go down even further..almost passing everything..You will see 7 marines ..4 get out of the ship..later on when you reach this part of the game..two guys are always dead to give you ammo.and to are MIA..But.. if you were able to bypass by being able to jump down all the way and not going through the buildings,I wonder if the game would glitch because the guys would be alive..and there is no enemies in sight ..no tank.

EDIT..Tonight I threw granades down from the ledge and killed 6 of 7 Marines...but I can't get back up to see if the game glitches..

This game still draws my attention..it's really awesome..
I like to trick the enemy into rushing me and I move to the side to watch them fall off the edge. :o

Adventure (Atari 2600)
Unreal Tournament (PS2)
Red Faction (PS2)
Colony Wars/CW:Vengeance/CW:Red Sun (PS)

Although I'm simply replaying Red Faction on "hard" instead of the "medium" that I beat it on the first time. And Unreal Tournament plays as a menu of short battles (DM, CTF, Domination, Assault), so there's no obligation to go beyond a five-minute blast-fest.

I could see playing Rez and Ico again even after I finish them.

And I play Robotron: 2084 every now and then, even though I've beaten it.

I play the three NES Castlevania's regularly, both NES Zelda games, Blaster Master...

I used to play the first Spider-man game on PSone over and over just for fun.

And someday I plan on playing FF7 again for the fun of it.

I just played through Contra (NES) for the 9,856,456,435,001 time last week. Can never get enough of that one. I've torn through Halo on every difficuly level and just started on the easiest level again just for the hell of it.

I just finished my second run through Metroid Fusion, and missed the best ending by FOUR MINUTES. I'll probably try again in the next month or so, since I can't resist the game. It's like the best of Super Metroid and Metal Gear Solid slapped together in a sandwich of . . . something else that's good.

I also started up Xenosaga again. It reminds me of the days when there were so few RPGs around that I'd just play the same ones for months on end. Granted, there's a much better selection of RPGs out now, but maybe I'm just nostalgic for those deprived days.

Well, right now I'm playing through Xenogears again (save got erased 50 hours in right when the game came out), and I can't stop. I just cant. I have an exam on wednesday that I'm so not ready for, and I look at my books, then go turn on my PSOne. I KNEW there was a reason I didn't want to start a game after beating Mario Sunshine... Now, 2 days later I'm 7:10 into Xenogears.

I played through FF7 at least twice, maybe 3 times. The game that takes the cake for "No reason to play it anymore" on a console would be THPS3. I beat it with every single character... totally superfluous. Nothing interesting to unlock, just did it because it was fun. That and CounterStrike, but the game never had an objective to begin with so I guess that doesn't count.

I've played through Secret of Mana, FF2, FF3, and Chrono Trigger a stupid number of times on SNES when it was in it's prime.

Silent Hill 1 & 2 (#3 looks promising!)

Resident Evil: DC (PS1)

Diablo & DarkStone (PS1) have different dungeons/quests respectively so they're virtually infinitely replayable.

FF7 is just awesome to come back to after a year or so and just marvel at how great the game is.

I only WISH I was replaying PSIV agian, I need that badly.

I actually went through and beat Sonic 1 again recently, and marvelled at just how great that game is.
