i recently got a super nintendo but it doesnt turn on, i know for certain the ac adapter is faulty but before i invest in a new one i decided to make sure its worth it. i noticed the ac plug wiggles a lot when connected, and noticed that the ac input on the back of the console looks as if it might be missing a part, i looked at a few pictures but they where too low res to be able to compare. i took some pictures of mine but its cell phone quality, i hope it gives a clear idea of what it looks like

whats in there is basically 2 little pins that in my opinion seem to far apart to make any kind of contact with the ac adapter. if you could confir this as a flaw or show me a picture of a proper ac input id be thankful

That power port is broken....

Possible solutions:

You can either install another panel mount DC connector, and wire it to the broken one (like this one from Ratshack):

Or you can totally modify the existing broken port as shown here:

Although, after this mod, you won't longer will be able to use the SNES original power supply (which now a days is quite unreliable anyway) but instead, a Genesis model 1, Master system or Turbo grafx 16 Power supply will do the job...
