Gunblade NY & LA Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack Leaked
By Spencer . April 15, 2010 . 2:51am
Sega is bringing two more arcade games to Wii. Thanks to an ESRB
leak, we know Gunblade NY & LA Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack exists.
Here=92s what the rating board says about the unannounced game.
This is an arcade-style first-person shooter in which players engage
in missions to protect sections of New York and Los Angeles from enemy
forces. Players aim targeting crosshairs on dozens of attacking
soldiers, robots, missiles, and vehicles that explode when destroyed.
Constant gunfire and explosions highlight the frenetic action; zoomed-
in camera angles depict multiple projectiles striking the humanoid
terrorist enemies.
Even with out the description, the title is fairly self-explanatory =97
two on-rails light gun games, Gunblade NY and LA Machineguns, on a Wii
disc. In Gunblade NY you're in a helicopter. LA Machineguns puts both
players on hovercycles.
Awesome. Sega needs to bring out *all* of their MODEL 2 and MODEL 3 arcade games to Wii and PS360.
Next, please, please bring Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, Scud Race and Daytona USA 2 home too, SEGA.

This is one arcade game I'm planning to purchase at some point in time. I want the cockpit version, though. If it's ever released on a next gen console I won't have to purchase the arcade unit.

Amen, without those, it'll feel like I'm using the noisy cricket to defeat all these alien forces.
Great news, looks like fun.

This is great, but where's my Virtua Cop Trilogy?

Hell yes. This should play pretty nice wih the ol' Wii Zapper, as does Ghost Squad. I'm glad to see Sega is stepping up their arcade porting. They made way too much awesome stuff that never got a home release. On a related note, After Burner Climax in 5 days zOMG.

It's great that they are doing this since they has never been a home console release of any of these two titles before BUT I do agree that I would love to see a Virtua Cop Collection or at least Virtua Cop 3 and House of the Dead 4...

Wow, never thought L.A. Machineguns would ever get a home release. That's great news, hopefully it migrates over to the 360 too. I still play that game at my local theater...is there an arcade game out that has bigger guns than that game? Those things are seriously huge!

House of the Dead 4 would need to be significantly downgraded to run on Wii.
The Lindbergh hardware is roughly equivalent to the HD consoles, X360/PS3, and therefore much more powerful than Wii. Whereas HOTD3 was able to run on Wii because it's a Chihiro game (based on Xbox1 hardware), roughly equivalent to Wii in performance.
Every SEGA arcade game from Lindbergh on up should goto the HD consoles, while everything from Chihiro and NAOMI 2 on down to MODEL 2 should goto Wii. That is if graphic compromises are to be avoided.

Yes!!! I loved playing Gunblade NY a few years ago in the arcade. I love a good light gun game, like Ghost Squad and Target: Terror. Now only if that Terminator: Salvation game from the arcade came to the Wii.

Had to revive this one.
I didn't realize this had come out, so I picked it up today. I loved GunBlade back when it was released for the ridiculousness of the guns. That is lost completely with the port (both the Zapper and the Perfect Shot being a poor substitute), but it is about as faithful as it gets otherwise. It's still 2-player Model 2 blast-a-thon madness (I need to play this on my Trinitron - currently using a plasma). The package is bare-bones and the games are inherently simple of course, but the remote works better for this than any of the other Wii gun shooting games. I wish you could set the vibration to be constant like the arcade (not just when connecting with shots), but I understand why you can't at the same time. I am so happy this was released (though it would have been at better deal at $20). Keep 'em comin'.
Everyone who has any interest in Sega continuing to dig deeper into their arcade stable really ought to grab this (and AfterBurner Climax on the 360) to vote with your wallet. Bring on Planet Harriers for Wii! Come on! Do it Sega!

If you are a Costco member, the game is part of the $10 sale going on for the next week in the holiday game mix. Great deal on a pretty decent package.

I picked it up a couple of months ago at Toys R Us. Seemed like nobody else in the area carried it.

Saw your thread about this on CAG. While it would be nice, I haven't been a Costco member in years.

Virtua Cop 3 needs a home... conversion. That an a wholly accurate Virtua Cop 2 makes for two overdue and justifiable releases along with Virtua Cop 1.

I'm STILL waiting for a good home release of House of the Dead. The Saturn version had very poor graphics, the PC version is decent... but I want a console version, with a gun.

Pretty bare bones game that you won't play more than 1ce or twice at the most. Don't pay more than $15 for this, folks.
