Hey guys,
If this is a taboo subject then just delete it.
I am just looking for some help on updating my psp firmware on a modded psp.
I have a silver psp slim. I did not do the original mod , so I am really not knowledgeable at all with the process. Is there any stores or DP members in NJ or CT that can help me out?
thanks
Dustin

You can find all the necessary info here. (http://forums.pspslimhacks.com/tutorials/2179-tutorial-how-install-cfw-any-psp.html) Just scroll down to the "Updating Firmware" section and you're good to go!
You can also find all the necessary files that you will need on the same site!

hey smashed brother
we downloaded psp firmware 5.03 and installed it. Everything seemed to work fine.
Now when I go to play games off the mem card like Diablo for the PSX I get "Copywrite protection information is invalid"
when I try emulators like NES it says " The game cannot be started the data is corrupted"
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix?

Sounds like you put the official firmware in the Game folder and updated that. Official firmware is supposed to be in the root of the memory stick and the updater goes in the game folder. I haven't had the need to downgrade a PSP recently so I don't know if 5.03 can be downgraded with Pandora.
If it says 5.03 on your system settings its official firmware. If it says 5.03GEN(since DAX stopped at 5.00m33,) then it's custom. If it's customer you can hold R when turning the power on to switch some settings. If it's custom you also probably corrupted everything on your card if you didn't copy it to your PC and then format it.
