Sold this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280491737832&viewitem=

$3.99. FOUR WHOLE DOLLARS.

I even put in the ad:

Used and untested, but when was the last time you saw a dead Atari 2600 cart?

Will offer full refund less shipping if game is DOA.

So what do I receive for feedback?

DO NOT TRUST THIS CONMAN. HE SELLS BROKEN GAMES. STAY FAR AWAY

I mean really? What the fuck? He has 320 feedback too, not like he's new to ebay. :grrr:

As childish as it is I saved his name in my saved sellers list in case he ever sells anything. I'll buy it and leave a negative because it'll make me feel better :smash:
Here's his ebay ID so no one does business with him glamour_knight

Had to vent somewhere.

Eh, it's only a neg, stupid as it may be. At least you didn't lose any money. If all of us got angry over every stupid bad feedback we received, the mental hospitals would be overflowing.

As for your negative retaliation plan (which I don't condone, but as Chris Rock once said, "I understand"), you know that you'd have to actually pay for the item to leave a neg, not just buy it. Otherwise it would be removed.

Why don't you just message him and resolve the misunderstanding instead of going off the deep end? You know that feedback can be removed / withdrawn correct? Tell him that you apologize for the confusion and give him a refund less shipping.

Or if you'd rather have the $4 than feedback, get over it and don't worry about it.

My auction clearly stated I'd offer a refund if the game didn't work right.

Someone who neglects to read the description before bidding and leaves a negative before trying to contact the seller cannot be reasoned with. These are the scabs that are infecting ebay and pushing many sellers away (along with lots of new shady ebay rules).

I did email him anyways, just in case. Totally put his balls in my mouth too even though I wanted to just bitch him out. We'll see ROFL

Whenever I see this in an item description I assume it to mean that the game doesn't work.

I just honestly don't have an Atari to test them on, and for $3... I really don't care! haha

I don't know about that. I've had people leave negs before contacting me and when I'd email them saying they should have contacted me first and I would have been more than willing to help them out they felt pretty embarrased about the whole thing and got he neg removed. I think some people are so worried about getting scammed when buying online that the first time something like this happens they just think that's what was going on. Sure, there are plenty of scammers and idiots on eBay(buyers and sellers) but many, if not most, of the times it's just people being human and making human mistakes and wrong judgements.

So you offer refund on game? Shipping was $3! So he would get $1 back. If he had to return it he would be out another 3 bucks. I have had more Pitfall 2 games dead more than any other activision. I think as a seller you should not sell unless games are tested. I think for a long term business plan testing games would be a much better idea. You also had the lowest price Pitfall 2 on Ebay, I would have stayed far away from that auction.

Good for you! I'm glad you have time to clean and test hundreds of games. I don't; I have a life. Therefor, I sell the games much cheaper and simply put 'untested'.

Why are you complaining then? You saved your time by not bothering to test your games and got a negative for it, it seems you'd rather get a negative than spend time testing stuff. What's the problem?

I personally would have done the same thing, that guy lost out the cost of shipping because of your laziness and I would be just as upset as he is.

Guess there's too many retards on ebay that don't understand 'untested'.

Let me get a definition in case people are fuzzy.

adj. - Not tried by experience; Not yet proved or subjected to trial.

If you buy something untested, it might not work! If that isn't something you're willing to risk, don't bid on it!

Wow, is this really so hard people?

Guess he thought you were a liar, that you tested the game and found it wasn't working, yet listed it as untested anyway to get money while covering your ass.

There's plenty of people who do that, I guess he thought the same way about you since he doesn't know you personally. Maybe he gave you a negative to warn other potential buyers about your possible shady business practices(that's if he thinks you lied about it being untested). There's really just no way to know for sure what he thinks, it's not like it's simple to figure out.

In that case I check the seller's feedback or previously sold items. If the guy has sold a bunch of games and everyone left a postive I'd just assume I got a dud.

BTW, when I say I offer a FULL refund, I mean I send back the winning bid AND the shipping costs.

Then it might just be a misunderstanding, maybe if you talk to the buyer you can get it sorted out and fixed.

If I was the buyer, I wouldn't have known that you'd also refund the shipping costs too since that's the opposite of what you described in your auction. That's maybe how the misunderstanding happened.

Will offer full refund less shipping if game is DOA.

To me "less shipping" means everything except for the shipping costs, not shipping costs too. Maybe I'm just one of the many retards that doesn't understand what "less shipping" means.

I meant less return shipping. There's the confusion I suppose.

I DID tell this all to the winner however.

I don't see anything wrong.

The game was listed as untested and you even agreed to refund the price if it was DOA.

The only "inconsistency" (which really isn't) is that you put "Used and untested, but when was the last time you saw a dead Atari 2600 cart?". The buyer possibly took this as a "sure fire bet" that the game would have worked anyway.

I would not say things like that, just to be on the safe side, since it leaves some shadow of doubt.

Still overall, there is nothing wrong with the listing...although $2.99 for Priority Mail? LOL

Agreed. Any auction that says "as is" or "untested", I avoid. I assume that the seller either doesn't care enough to try, or suspects that the item is broken.
