Well, I've been getting into the whole "repro" thing, mostly for SNES, but i've done a couple NES games as well, and i'm going to be trying a couple Genesis games.
the thing is, since these games didn't typically get a lot of publicity, i've been having troubles finding things to use for the labels.
so, i thought i'd start a topic devoted to sharing labels that people have made.
I suppose I should start:
Star Ocean (not quite happy with this one, need something a little higher res)

Clock Tower

Final Fantasy 2

Final Fantasy 3 (can't get the game to work yet, but here's my label)

In the spirit of sharing, feel free to pm me, and i'll send you the full .tif image.
as it is, there are 3 things i need to make labels for: Ranma 1/2 Treasure of the Red Cat Gang, Nightmare Busters, and I'd like to get something a little better for my Star Ocean label

I worked on two things: a label for Kaizo Super Mario World and a box for Sweet Home. Neither came out that well, but thought I'd show them off anyway. Also, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve the Sweet Home box? I didn't have any good pics for it (ones that were big enough, for instance) and the pics don't really sit right on there (the movie poster almost needs a frame around it or something).

yeah, for the box on sweet home, I'd say give the poster some kind of frame.
also, try blending it with the rest of the box, as opposed to having it just sit there.
as for the kmw label, try overlapping the text with the main image, as well as moving the Kaizo and super words around.

Any idea on how I can frame it? I think it would probably look even worse if I just hunted down a picture frame graphic and put that around it. I might have to try it and see tho. I thought about making it look like it was ripping out of the box or something (like putting "torn" black pieces around the edges), but that wouldn't really make any sense. (It would be better if I was trying to recreate the canvas look of the Famicom box, but I think that would be difficult to do, and not as "horror" as I'd like.) I also thought about putting a window frame around it, but again it would probably look cheesy and not make any sense either. I thought about rounding the corners on it, but I couldn't think of anything beyond that to do.
I guess I'll have to look around more and see if I can find any good frames to use.

i do like the idea of making it look old.
maybe add a yellowing/peeling/faded look to it?

Here's my first attempt at a frame: It's eclipse-y! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v332/mobiusclimber/sweethomeboxagain.png)
I think this might be it, really. I'd love to do the whole canvas, worn out thing but it would likely be more work than I want to put into it. What do you think of this?

actually, i really like that.
just one thing, you might want to clean up the top part of the box, or maybe use something a little higher-res for the house/text.
together, they look a little mismatched to me.

I had to hunt around for a better logo, but I'm glad I did since the site I got it from also had a ton of nice sized screens from the game. Here's the new box front: Bigger, better, stronger than every before! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v332/mobiusclimber/sweethomeboxagain2.png)

That Sweet Home front is great. Make sure you post the back when you are finished! I would love to print this out(if you dont mind) and give my cart a nice cardboard home!

I definitely will. It's going to take awhile tho since I'll have to come up w/ some "copy" (ie the blurbs about the game) for the back on my own.

I'm still working on the Sweet Home back, and it's coming along nicely. I have a question tho: Do you guys prefer the screenshots to be shaped like a tube tv or do you prefer regular square pix? I've looked on the backs of several NES game boxes and it seems like some companies do it one way and some do it the other way.
Also, I bought some paper to make labels with but it turned out to be the wrong kind. I bought photo quality self-adhesive (which is correct) A4 size (which is wrong) and ink jet (which is wrong). Does anyone know where to get regular paper sized laser jet paper that is photo quality self-adhesive? Or something else that will work for making a label?

I have the repro of FFIII and it works. Mine has a thin strand of metal pressed against the connector pins so I think the repro maker had to put a special part in the game.

yeah, there's two ways to do a FFIII cart.
1. the way that you have it, starting with something like a Kirby's Adventure cart, and adding a pin connector.
2. using a certain version of super mario bros. 2 and adding a battery to the cart.
either way, it's a pain in the ass.

I like the TV Tube shaped screenshots. Looking forward to your finished product!

I know it's for older systems, but Atari Age now has the ability to make a custom Atari 2600, 5200, or 7800 cartridge. I think you just provide the rom, label design, and money.

What do you guys think of the box back I made for Zelda 3 (Chinese Famicom port)?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v332/mobiusclimber/zelda3nesbacktest.jpg
I made a SNES PAL repro label for Secret of Mana 2. The point was to resemble an original SD2 UKV label.

Just tell me. Does it look good? Or not?

To all, you guys have no idea how many people I've asked for some of the works posted here.
Thank you all, very very much.

I've been working on a few labels for carts I plan on owning. Here are a couple I did for Super Ultra Baseball 2 (Japanese sequel to one of my favorite baseball games of all time, Super Baseball Simulator 1.000) and Super Mario World: Return To Dinosaur Land.
My plan is to make a custom cart label for Final Fantasy V in the same style as II and III, with the gold font, shining sword, etc. But it's really proving to be a king sized pain in the ass.
I always like topics like this, creating custom labels to me is really fun.
