Like it randomly resets and when I jump to the first panel, I mysteriously die, is there any issuses with it and a Model 1 Genesis?

Well first I tried it in my Nomad and it worked, then I decided to clean it and try it in my Genesis again and this time it worked.

Of course he's changed. When he first got to DP he was making ridiculous posts, similar to this. (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=142842)

It's ridiculous to ask how many Super Mario carts were made? Fascinating theory, please do go on.

I had a legitimate problem with the game, I never knew in-game weirdness could be caused by not being clean, Sketch jumped to the first panel and then without touching anything the gameover message appeared, and then it reset. I have changed, I'm making few threads, and my grammar has improved.

This is a legimate thread (and I think that there's no problem with you making a thread about your problem with Comix Zone), and you've made a lot of good changes to your posting method. I'm saying that Mr. Pancake Bunny guy shouldn't be criticizing you when his first posts were just as bad, if not worse than yours.

It's not ridiculous to ask that, it's just ridiculous to ask the question in the thread title and have your first post to be a series of nonsense symbols with no rhyme or reason, then get pissed off when people think you're not being serious.

Yeah, he's gone a long way from the Genesis box, ASCII and AC adaptor posts and the fish avatar.

Very good turnaround there, man. +1000 for that.

This is something I would've expected to see in the technical forum, not here.

Still, this is the first time I've heard of Genny carts not working due to dirty contacts. o_o

I've heard of them not working, but not in the sense that the game would glitch up. Then again, it's most likely quite possible, as I've seen it do strange things with SNES/NES games.

Anyway, yeah Pancake Bunny really shouldn't be talking.

It happened to me back when I was a kid. My copy of Sonic 3 glitched up and I didn't know why. Sonic would just jump no matter what direction I pushed, and eventually he'd freeze in the air with the graphics glitching forcing me to restart the system. Eventually I cleaned everything and it all works fine now.

Whenever I get a game now, the first thing I do is clean it before I try it out. It's way easier to test if a game is working properly if I already know it's clean, it's one less thing to worry about.

not genesis but on the nes my copy of friday the 13th would tottally glitch out if the contacts were dirty, and I would start out with random items and status's . like everyone having the torch and sweater and starting on day 3. I even tried a few times to forcefully screw it up (only worked once).

fun stuff :-)

But what i don't get is why it would only glitch out in my Genesis model 1 and not my Nomad. When I cleaned it the game wasn't even that dirty but it still did the trick. This isnt the first time something like this has happend, my copy of Mega Turrican would freeze randomly in my Genesis model 1 too. People think it my Genesis 1's cart connector but I dont know how to clean it, and I have since switched Genesises(?) to my Model 2 that requires you to jiggle the power cord because I have A/V cables for it too so better picture than the R/F switch I was using.

Just buy an actual cleaning kit for the Genesis. You have a post in the buy and sell section asking for games, ask for a cleaning kit too. You'll get your model 1 working fine after you get one.

Your model 2 probably has a cracked solder joint, open it up and resolder it. Or get someone else to do it for you if you're unable to do it yourself.

I would buy a cleaning kit, but I like the Model 2 more than the Model 1 for some reason, I can't solder the last and only time I soldered something was in the 8th grade..... and that was quite a while ago I'm just too afraid I will mess something up. I hate to admit this because this makes me sound like a noob but I don't know how to ship things. I never shipped anything in my life before that didn't come in a prepaid box. So shipping my system out to someone is not an option. I may just have to buy another Genesis 2 and hope it doesn't have problems.

Back to talking about Genesis games acting weird, my copy of Super Street Fighter II makes a weird noise on the "licensed By Sega for the Sega Genesis" screen flashes. Is this normal? Yea this is probably more suited for the Tech forum I'm sorry.
