Picked this up the other day and I can't seem to find any similar pics, so I'm wondering if this is a legit Asian release or a pirate cart.

ROM itself is the J/E version with the US lockout. I haven't opened up the cart since it would require tearing the back sticker to get to the screws.

Probably the strangest thing is the use of both titles on the spine, I have never seen this before. The "Bare Knuckle" seems rather plain being that they kept the original "Streets of Rage" logo.

Stickers look legit, raised Sega logo on back of cart, golden MD logo like a few other Asian releases.....

Thoughts?

I want to say it's a pirate because of the strange use of both the English and Japanese titles being used on the cart, but it being in an official Sega casing makes me think otherwise. I hope someone else can help you with that cart, I'd love to know as well if it's a pirate or not.

Do you know of anywhere that has a picture of the case or manual?

Its a legit Asian release.
HK?

What region used both game titles at the same time? That would be a kind of odd way to market a game...would make more sense if they were trying to be multi-lingual, though the game itself would be just one regional version when played.

I'm no expert on non-Japanese releases but it seems odd to me. It looks better put together than the Samsung release I own but the multiple branding doesn't put me at ease.

Wouldn't you know, right off the bat:

Very weird. Strange that it comes with a color English manual and a B&W Chinese one also. Apparently that is some sort of standard with those releases, which I was totally unaware of.

Now that I started looking I see that a few other of these Asian/HK releases use both the English and Japanese titles on the box art.
