Monitor colours "a bit washed out"

I'm going to take a look at a machine in a little bit but the ad says that the colours are "a bit washed out" of course I'll have to see for myself what that actually means when I get there. But I've never done any repairs on an arcade machine before so I'm wondering if something that this is fixable and what that would entail.

That means, "cap kit".

It could also mean someone who owned it before you has the screen adjustment pots out of whack. If you can't adjust it out, see Flack's post above. :)

The monitor is hooked up with 3 main wires, red/green/blue. One of those could be loose, and would be a simple fix. OR adjusting the controls could be all that is required. OR you would need to take out the monitor board, de-solder the capacitors, and replace them all. Parts for that will run you under $10, but if you can't do it yourself, no idea what somebody with soldering skills might charge you.

I've never been so lucky. It's like my theory that all things sold on eBay "as is" means they're broken. I guess some people buy "as is" stuff and it works, but not me. In my personal track record, "as is" means broken and "dim picture" means cap kit. Your luck may vary. :)

Well the colours were a bit washed out and I was able to fiddle with the little knobby thingys on the back and I got it better. I'll still need to do a cap kit at some point but right now there isn't a rush.

What game is it? Pics of the game / monitor?

I know that it's not much to look at but I owned this game once before and I've been looking for it for over a year so I'm happy to get it. Also it's in almost exactly the same condition too so I'm really excited. Now I just want to get some Jamma games.
