Possibly all of them. But I'd bet anything that the seller will not get the money. It's really a shame.

Yeah one of these is probably a shill bidder.....or a very cautious bidder who doesn't know you don't bid on an auction till the last day.

Hey Zektor:

What is this lot actually worth??? I have a TG16, but haven't really started collecting for it yet. Your expertise is appreciated. :D

That is really hard to say. If these games were all complete I can see the lot going for much more than it is at now. If they at least came with their cases, manuals and hucard sleeves I can see the auction being at where it is now. The thing is, they are all loose. Sure, Bonk 3 is in there and can fetch $75-$100 on ebay, but everything else can be gotten, and loose cards on ebay usually go for much cheaper than one with a manual/jewel case. Even the Duo itself can be purchased from TZD brand new for $200. I personally would pay probably a maximum of $600 for this lot, and that is if I collected loose cards which I do not. Anything after that amount is just rediculious IMHO.

That all depends on what the buyer is willing to pay, the same with any other collectable out there. In my experience however, yes, I would say it is overpriced by $500+.

Here is why I say so: Since I started re-collection the system, the only real option to get most of the games is Ebay or trade. And even with trading not many folks are willing to part with games for the system. So, Ebay has gotten me 99% of what I have. I have about 60 USA hucards, all in cases with manuals and sleeves. I also have about 20 or so PC Engine Hucards all with case/manual/sleeve. I have a TG16, 2 turbotaps, 5 joypads, a turbobooster plus, a core grafx (boxed complete), and an avenue 6 pad. I paid about $600-$700 for everything. Keep in mind however this is buying tiny lots or even single game auctions over a span of a few months. I suppose some people don't want to hunt and wait, and just want to get a ton of games all at once. Maybe this is why the auction is so high...

Yup, I get you Zektor.. Just easier to buy a whole collection in 1 lot.....but wheres the fun in that? I like bidding at the last second and sniping someone. Thats the fun of online auctions.

Nice collection..thats a majority of the games. no?

I admit, I know nothing about TG16

I don't think it's shill bidding at all. It looks like a bunch of noobs got into a proxy fight. Moreover, the winner placed multiple bids on top of each other. I see this all the time. A bidder doesn't think his proxy is high enough so he places a higher proxy. What ends up happening is that he will have the top two or more highest bids. Of course someone will try to outbid those proxies to drive up the noob's bid, but I don't think that is shill bidding by the seller.

The final auction value is a bit high, but I think its worth morth than $600. 62 Turbo Grafx games probably average around $10 a piece. Now throw in the fact that there are a lot of rare games, such as Bonk 3, Air Zonk, Neutopia 2, Military Madness, Gunboat, Devil's Crush and Parasol Stars, to name a few, I would say the games alone are probably worth at least $650. Throw in a Turbo Duo and extra controller probably valued at $150 - $200, I see this auction worth at least $850 to $900.

If you add in the uniqueness factor for the auction, the condition factor for the items listed and of course the noob factor, the fav is not that far off what it's really worth.

BTW, I love my diigital press guide, but I find it far off the spot when it comes to pricing Turbo Grafx and Turbo Duo games. Seems like they always go for more than what is listed.

Good question. Thats a whole helluva lot of coin. The auction stuck for the last 12 or so hours right to the end with his high bid.

I hate to see this happen.

Good sellers list a auction that should sell under normal circumstances, everything is clearly stated and listed, good items in the auction -- and then something happens to jerk the price up to a crazy ammount and then the buyer does'nt go through with it, forcing the seller to start all over again.

EBay should FORCE people to honor their bids. They require a credit card to sign on as a registered user -- if 30 days pass and the buyer files a complaint that the seller does'nt respond to, charge that credit card or take other action.

It's hard to say wether it's shill or not. I kinda agree that it's a bidding war between uniformed n00bs.

@Zektor: dude, you said "to the max." LOL
