I just got a DSI XL and was wondering if it uses the same charger/usb cable as the other versions of the DS? I've looked at several pictures on eBay and I can't tell if they are the same. Also, can anyone recommend a few decent games for it? I've looked at quite a few games, and most seem to be kind of lame. I'm planning on getting the Metroid, Zelda, Bomberman, and Mario games, but that's about all I can see that I would be interested in. Are there any hidden gems for the system?

A ton. You probably won't be able to get over half of them new now.
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, Mega Man ZX Advent, Feel the Magic(best touch screen game by far,) Rub Rabbits, Clubhouse Games, Advance Wars DS and Days of Ruin, Avalon Code, Jump Ultimate Stars(import.) There's a lot more but there are quite a few lists on here so search for them.
If you pick up a PSP that also has a lot of great games. Most of which can still be found for cheap prices.

Some games you should get are tetris DS, lux pain ( has a great story line and if you like a game with huge story line then this is a must have), And my favorite series for the DS is the touch master games. The tetris DS one is still 44 used and been out for over a year and is a must have, lux pain is a must have new because it comes with a art book and is 19 new and 9 used. All prices are found on gamestops website. Oh the touch master series is not a rare game to find, but fun if you like the touch games you see at the bar.

ScourDX, you mentioned Rondo of Swords twice. Also I agree with Retro Game Challenge.
It's not my favorite game on the DS, but if I had to choose one game to recommend I would choose that. It's a collection of fake games and nearly all of them happen to be really good. It covers most genres and the game play is different from game to game even when you're in the same genre.
When you get Haggleman 2 though, the first one just isn't worth playing since the second is the same game and there's more to it. I love Haggleman 2. Haggleman 3 isn't close to as good as Haggleman 2 but it's better than the game it rips off, which is Kid Icarus.

Thanks for the suggestions, but does anyone know about the cables?

The previous versions of DS don't even use the same adapters as each other. Read this (http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=150209¤cy=USD&catalogId=10001&tranId=0&lastAction=setCurr&storeId=10001&languageId=-1&categoryId=66209&ddkey=http:SetCurrencyPreference) to answer your questions though.

Well the DS and the DSLite don't use the same charger and from what i'm aware of the DSi doesn't use the same charger as the Lite.

DSi and DSiXL chargers are the same. All others are different, as has been noted.
