Lux-pain is a must have for you who like a game with a huge story line. Me I like more game play than story and I loved this. It comes with a free art book with pictures and info of each character in the game. This game may be 80% story and 20% game play, but what you do in the game effects some what of the story. So the story is that someone in the city is effecting people with a silent worm that brings hate and sadness to people. This worm has also made people commit crimes that after it's done have no knowledge of doing it. So you Atsuki Saijo have to use your power called Lux-pain to read there mind and find out what there thinking and felling. Your doing this to find out who is putting theses worms in people. I have to rate is a 5/5 because this is the first game I had to play everyday till I beat it. Most of the games I own aren't finished, but this is and I'm replaying it again. I suggest you get this new so you can check out the art book it comes with.

Well, I respectfully disagree with your review. I thought the "gameplay" parts of Lux-Pain weren't fit to be a Warioware mini-game, and the story was both terrible on premise and horribly translated. I would give it a 1/5 and suggest people not play it ever. But that's just me, and my opinion isn't any more valid than anyone else's.

Guy with white hair, girl dressed up as a maid. No thanks. Seriously, how much are they paying you?

I heard it was the poor grammar in the translation that really brought it down. Apparently that's important in a really text-heavy game.

Since everyone is not going to like or dislike the same games, I think it was great of you to share your opinion of this game.
Personally I did like the artbook that came with the game, but I do agree that the translation really needed some work. The story was very scattered. Games that are similar but done well, is Time Hollow. I really enjoyed the story as well as the game play elements.

I agree with calistarwind. It's great that you gave a different perspective...but when I played it I found it weird and confusing. And I played Time Hollow at about the same time and liked it a LOT more.

I enjoyed Time Hollow as well as Lux Pain but I tend to give most adventure games (especially on a console or handheld) a pretty big pass.
I enjoyed Lux Pain but I wouldn't mark it as my favorite. I would however give it a solid 3.5 out of 5. The translation was rough, the story was almost incomprehensible most of the time but even so, I really enjoyed it and I'm not sad to have it in my collection.
To the OP, if you are a fan of adventure games you should definitely try out Time Hollow.
