What's up with the DS Lite triggers?

Are these things universally troublesome? My R trigger has ALWAYS been crappy, requiring me to push it in really hard to get a response. I fixed that by wedging a piece of a thick movie ticket in there, which eliminated the space between the button and the trigger. The L button, however, apparently accumulated too much dust inside, and completely quit registering around the time I fixed my R trigger. Last night, I dripped some alcohol in it, squished the button a lot, and blasted it with compressed air. Now BOTH triggers finally work again.

Has anyone else noticed this with their DS? I know my sister's DS Lite has a weak L button, and it seems like the dust issue, but I haven't bothered opening it up yet.

My DS Lite is only about a week old, so no problems yet. I hope it doesn't have an issue with it in the future. Only complaints I've ever heard of them is that they are not very ergonomical.

Same problem and it stopped working and I had to send it in for a repair. Now it works fine. You have to do the same thing before it stops working on you too.
