I am unpacking my belongings after another big move and find myself wondering if there might be a better way to store my DS games. Naturally I keep them all in their boxes most of the time; I'm not interested in how to store the loose cartridges.
They're a little bit too thick for the typical CD rack, and most DVD racks aren't built quite right to take them either. Maybe I can get some freeform DVD rack parts (http://www.leevalley.com/us/hardware/page.aspx?p=46485&cat=3,43597,43598&ap=1) and do it that way.
Any other suggestions?

I know PapaStu got some shelving from IKEA that worked well.

Again, these pics are old, but Benno towers from Ikea can hold 120 standard DS games per unit (10 per row) and depending on your color choice (everything but Birch, which is what mine are) run 39 per unit (Birch are 49). The shelves are adjustable and building of a unit takes me about 10 minutes including mounting to the wall.
If you want to go deeper, you can get Billy Bookcases in different heights and shove em to the gills.

A terrible, terrible idea. I've learned my lesson now: I will never, ever bother building a rack for anything ever again, or at least nothing more complicated than binder clips stuck to the edge of a board - no matter how much it costs to get a professionally-built replacement.
Oh, I've got something put together now, and it doesn't look too bad, really - but it's held together with thumbtacks and velcro, and pulling games in and out of it isn't nearly as easy as it could be. I suppose part of the problem is that despite appearances, DS games are just a teensy little bit thicker than your typical DVD case after all. Or maybe these freeform racks just have to be aligned with extreme precision in order to function properly.
In the meantime my DS games have sat around in boxes for months and impeded my other unpacking efforts while I waffled over the right way to put this thing together. Blargh.
