I feel the need...the need for speed! This SJC is all about racing to the finish line on all types of vehicles. Can you get first place?

Below is a list of tournaments planned (more to be added later):

Burnout Revenge (Xbox/Xbox360)
1 vs 1...best of three in Road Rage mode.

Wave Race 64 (N64)
1 vs 1...best of three races.

Barnstorming (Atari 2600)
3 runs per person...fastest time wins.

Diddy Kong Racing (N64)
4 person races...each round is three races (1 car, 1 hover and 1 plane)
winner of each round moves on

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The gathering is moved back a week (the 12th) due to me being busy on the 5th. Hope that doesn't screw with anyone's schedule.

Here are the normal details:

Where:
Next Level Videogames
1031 Little Gloucester Rd
Blackwood, NJ 08012

When:
June 12th, 2010
11am - midnight

Hope to see all of you then.

THERE. Check out GAC's all new trade box. Also, looking for boxed Game Boy and Game Gear games. I trade well!

I should be able to make the trek.

Grand Prix (Atari 2600)
I'll be up front and say that I don't like this game, but putting that aside, I still think this is an odd choice. There are a handful of other racers for the 2600 I would pick before Grand Prix, namely all of those with simultaneous multi-player modes.

Give me some examples ;)

I went through a few racing games and most were boring or used paddle controllers. I wanted to keep it with a Joystick controlled racer just in case we were forced to emulate for whatever reason then there wouldn't be an issue. But if you have a better game let me know :)

Steeplechase (paddle)
Street Racer (paddle)

Indy 500 (driving controllers)

Dragster (joystick)
Enduro (joystick)
Motorodeo (joystick)
Sprintmaster (joystick)

Grand Prix is 90% memorization, 10% reflexes/skill. All of the above have no (or little) need to memorize the course and are thus much more enjoyable and accessible to newcomers. All of the above except Enduro are multiplayer as well. Steeplechase, is four players!

no love for nightdriver?:bawling:

please consider including MX Rider for PS2. (or big air for GC). you know how hard i am to please in regards to motobikes, and these both get my stamp o' approval.

3 person super off road on the rombox would be ace as well.

someone at this gathering will be....wait for it........................................

I think I am going to miss this one. My new apartment is coming together a little slower than I anticipated, and I will probably need the time for getting it in order on the 12th.

Second'd.

So, what did I miss?

We copyrighted the word "classic" while drinking Dom Perignon from platinum encrusted goblets and taking turns reading Keats.

Or we giggled and looked at Dutch Commodore porn while I wiped the floor with portnoyd in Barnstorming.

The more probable scenario here is the truth.
