And this trumps them all.

Word, boyee. It cost me like $10, too.

I'm so bored that I read through this whole topic and I can't believe the audacity and utter pointlessness of this shit. This is just my opinion as a poster, of course, but Nintega and all his "enemies" that are still carrying on beefs with him from other forums should be banned not just from this forum, but also from the Internet, gaming and maybe from the written word altogether. This is the best place I've found to talk about video games and collecting but you guys seem determined to do as much as possible to fuck it up.

signed.

But what the fuck did you expect, seriously? Even without even really remembering this nitengron guy it seemed a fairly safe bet that anybody who is making multiple threads along this same simple theme is going to be doing something annoying to people. This is a kind of topic that is better served on a static webpage, on something like hardcoregaming101, even.

(Please don't be thinkin' I'm beefin')

Check this out..

1. Forget about the hardware
2. Forget about the price points, rarity..etc
3. Stack the two games up against each other, head to head

Now.. which game is better?
I LOVE TO PLAY ON EMULATORS!!!1

If you wanna do that, cool. (I do it all the time)

But I just love saving people a decade of going through the same shit I've gone through with all these UBER RARE LEET games that is like "oh shit, I don't even have the console to play these on, haha," awesome.

true but id take game comparisons that lead to game discussing rather than Ebay Price Gouging Alert #932490243902439023403240249.

So basically I was right all along. I didn't even look at the middle pages, like where PC Engine Hell posts links to a dozen eBay auctions, doesn't really change my point, does it?

No one has mentioned the following: (as far as I have noticed)

From Wikipedia -
"However, the SuperGrafx can play PCE HuCards, PCE CDs, PCE Super CDs, PCE Arcade CDs, and the native SuperGrafx HuCards. These titles combined total to a very respectable library of nearly 700 titles."

Seems to add to the value of the system. PC-Engines aren't as cheap as they used to be, though you can probably get one much cheaper than an SGX. Having an SGX is more nostalgia for me. COuld never get one back when they were released -- cost tto much then too, espeacially the games. Did you know the games orginally sold for about $110 each -- only 1941 Counter-Attack has retained it's value; Aldynes is close...

I didn't say anything about emulators. I just noticed that most folks here are more concerned with the hardware than
the games that are being compared. So.. the SGX is uber expensive.. does that really make the Genesis of G'n'G better
than it's SGX counterpart? No!

Ghouls 'n Ghosts on the SuperGrafx is better than the Genesis version but it's also more challenging. Where the Genesis version gives you unlimited continues, you only get 2 on the SuperGrafx.

With a code you can get nine credits and adjust the difficulty/lives. Can't remember the code off the top of my head.. but it's similar to the Konami code.

Yeah, with that code you can set it to very easy or some such setting. But it doesn't seem to make much of a difference >_> (that's how I beat the game, with that code/setting)

So we can have lots of discussions about all the factors, and everybody is happy.

Nice tree dude.

Also, yeah it's better for me to have a copy of GnG that I can play on the Mega Drive than one I can't play on my non-existent SuperGrafx, with lag and shit from emulation (well, not much for me; I'm still using XP and have a nicer monitor).

uh?

no I am just talking about in general on forums. Theres always threads about Game X being sold for way too much on ebay. At this point its like someone saying the sky is blue. Old news. :)

So is all the other discussion.

Besides, I disagree that there aren't people who could profit from hearing that you don't have to buy expensive stuff to have a good time.
