My 360 can't detect my iPod

For over a year I've been using my iPod in conjunction with my 360, being able to hook it in and play through the selected music source menu. I hadn't used it in the past couple of weeks and I tried it today, but it didn't work. The iPod charges, but it doesn't appear anymore on the music source list.

I took a look through some searching but all I found were some old Yahoo questions. I read something about firmware updates but I haven't placed any major updates on my iPod, though I may have applied an update on the 360 if there was one during that period. Any ideas what's going on?

Did you plug in the ipod after the xbox 360 loaded and also if you have a Iphone or those touch screens I have heard they had problems connecting with the xbox 360. p.s check if you have the optional media update on the 360 as well in your system items.
