Anyone here familiar with tracking down obscure B&W Game Boy games? Looks interesting from pics (http://www.mobygames.com/game/gameboy/hammerin-harry-ghost-building-company/screenshots).
It's listed as R0 here due to lack of info. I've yet to find even an image of the English version's cart/box. Let alone for sale. So I don't have the least bit of clue on its value. Isn't really clear whether this is a US or EU release either. Could it be like the NES game, which for sure didn't come out here?
Feel free to make recommendations of tricky to find titles with longevity. A lot of GB stuff is short by modern standards.

Looks interesting! Never known of the game myself. Might be a ROM floating around that could provide more information.
I have the JP version of this game, decent but a bit slow paced.

Played it on the GP2X and it's actually a lot of fun. Better than the PSP game by far.

I wouldn't mind having Great Greed either. That seems difficult to find as well.

I wonder if either game shares development staff with the original arcade game (people from the classic R-Type / Hero Tonma / Ninja Spirit / Dragon Breed etc. era).

Did someone mention obscure B&W Game Boy games?
I've never seen a copy of Hammerin' Harry for sale but then I haven't looked particularly hard. It always struck me as Yo! Noid with a less interesting protagonist. I've never seen a US box shot of the game either and I've developed a (no doubt unfounded) suspicion it was never released here at all. All of the mentions I've seen of Hammerin' Harry have been similar to this one -- semi-mystical.
Curiously, one game I've noticed becoming harder to come by: Power Racer (http://www.gamefaqs.com/gameboy/585859-power-racer/images).

Hammerin' Harry was never released in the USA.
For all things USA GB, including Great Greed & Power Racer, check out http://www.gbdb.org
Hammerin' Harry was never released in the USA.
But a rom does exist...

Sure does! But it never made it to retail.

Opened a can of worms, huh? It didn't occur to me the GB Hammerin' Harry would be THAT wildly out there to try and obtain.

It wouldn't be the first time - I seem to remember that Ninja Spirit wasn't released in the US for GB either, and it seems hard to get. Not a horrible conversion, considering the platform, either.

Wow, I never thought anyone would put out a clone of a '70s arcade game like that in the GameBoy era. It looks slightly more advanced than the Atari 2600 game Dodge 'Em or the TI-99/4A game Car Wars.

Is there a good place to post "want ads" letting people know you're interested in purchasing games like this?

The Buy & Sell subforum should be open for you already :)

It's not a clone, it's a port. Though I don't recall Tecmo being behind the original of Head-On.

Is it? My brother got it new and didn't like it so I adopted it. It's one of my favorites and it angers me that Lameboy doesn't emulate it well.

It says rarity 4 here. No sign of the game on ebay, though some amazon sellers appear to have copies affordable enough. I can transfer money to a bank account to get around their lacking paypal.
Edit: OK. I made a WTB topic on the Buy & Sell board.

I found Great Greed at a Gamestop a few years ago. I haven't gotten too far into it but what I played was fun, it definitely seems worth getting.

They haven't sold Game Boy games for at least eight years, right? If you all have magic GameStops near you that sell real games, I want in.

umm I've seen normal GB stuff there within the past two years. I don't have to go to gamestop anymore though since I like near seven real stores :)

I'm pretty sure the GameStops around here only sell pre-orders, Game Informer subscriptions and Viagra (probably).

Cattrap - if you've ever seen a cat attack a roll of toilet paper, than you don't need me to explain why mummies are the victims of random, unexplained furry hate crimes in this one of a kind puzzle game. More levels than any game needs, and level select is available from the start.
Ultima: Runes of Virtue 1&2 - Okay, take Zelda and Ultima, combine them together, and...actually, it's nothing like Fable at all. It's more like Lolo: The action RPG.
^ Hours after I wrote that sentence, I realized I probably don't have the time to do the subject justice. If nobody else covers it, I'll return to it next time I drop by.
I love the b/w Gameboy.
