I seem to remember it sounded similar but was not the same, but some people insist it was the same theme.
Were there different versions? If not the TV theme, why not?

It was the original theme, but done through the hardware.
Not a sampled/digitized version of the TV show theme.
Check out the original 1992 Bally promo video on youtube. It plays the version of the theme used in the game.

That is the theme I heard, sounded different in the arcade with all the other machines going off too.
now that I know how to score I really want to play it again! very cool machine
