This could breathe a bit of life into the stale genre, but I dunno how well it'll all work together. I'll only be interested if it can be purchased separately, as I will NOT buy another huge-ass bundle.

I, for one, am waiting for Rock Band: Tuba.

Didgeridoo, or I walk.
The problem with a keyboard controller is that there isn't much room for making a "Rockband" version of the instrument; a keyboard is already a big plastic thing with plastic buttons to push. The way I see it is either they could just let you attach a MIDI style keyboard, a la Miracle Piano, or release an entirely pointless five button keyboard. If you already play the piano, then anything Rockband 3 can throw at you will be easy, if not, it will be hard as hell.
The only reason I would buy it is if I felt that there was the possibility of me actually learning to play the piano from this game. Even so, I'm tired of these stupid plastic instruments.

Rock Band: ELO, here we come!
I still think ELO deserves a Rock Band game, complete with violin and brass controllers. Ahh, how it'd be fun to play Tightrope with those...

Fine by me.

Adding keyboards to the game should be lots of fun. I'd love to see some Supertramp, Stevie Wonder, and Elton John thrown into the mix. Some more Guess Who would also be nice.

It should've had keyboards to begin with.
Some versions of Keyboardmania can link up with both Guitar Freaks and DrumMania. I've always wanted to try it.

Exactly. Having five colors scrolling down the screen for a keyboard will be no different than for a guitar or bass. If that's the case, what's the point (other than duping people into buying more fake instruments)?
Maybe there will be a horizontally scrolling staff with real notes and chords, underneath the vocal chart...but how many players will actually be able to read notes, chords, and key signatures that quickly?
Rock Band: ELO, here we come!
Billy Joel, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, and Yanni, too!

If it's like keyboardmania somehow, it could be a winner.

That little icon has 10 keys. I doubt they'll do real notes, but I see no reason it can't be a "Rock Band style" instrument with more than 5 keys. Keyboardmania has 24 keys, though obviously they won't go that high for Rock Band. It'll probably be 8-12. And the "point" (aside from getting people to buy more plastic instruments, which is likely the primary purpose) is to represent the synth track in songs.

I think it's a great idea and am looking forward to seeing how they implement it. I doubt they will patch old songs and DLC to use it.

The little guitar icon has six strings, but the fake Rock Band guitar only has five buttons. I doubt the icon means anything significant.

If they add keyboards then they officially have NO excuse for not including They Might Be Giants in some capacity in Rock Band 3.

Really, as long as I a, not buying a whole other full band kit and just an extra instrument, I am good. That is the reason why I did not buy the full Beatles Rock Band kit. I already own the full kit for rock band 1 and 2. I am guessing that there will be another full kit, but please oh please don't switch up all the other instruments forcing me to get the entire kit just to play it. That would be total weak sauce.
As for keyboards, I will try it out.
I am also guessing that they will incorporate harmonizing voices like they did in B:RB.

Cool if its true. I don't know if I'll buy it though, I'm not really into music games anymore and all my RB controllers are broken except the mic (And I have other things to buy like tools for my musical instrument repair)

I know how to play a couple of songs on guitar that were featured in GH games, and found them incredibly difficult, 'cause my fingers wanted to go where they belong in real life. Although, I suck at guitar, so I'm not the best example.

with the Rock Band Network now more bands can add stuff. KMFDM can get whoever they have making tracks to add a keyboard chart for the synths. MORE SYNTHS!!!!
