It's Tuesday. I had no idea. I think we can just accept at this point that as long as I get there sometime between Saturday and Thursday, we're ok ;)

So, keeping it classic this week. Since we just passed the 30th anniversary of the release of Pac-Man...I thought it only right that we celebrate the fact. But, with a twist. And that twist is the speed-up hack.

The speed up hack definitely makes Pac-Man a far twitchier game, but I find it to be much better than a regular Pac-Man game.

drop.io/dpmameclub to grab the ROM.

So, I'm guessing that we're dead or something?

I know I've had trouble keeping to the schedule, but in a week...nobody? Even to say "Eww, I'm tired of Pac-Man"?

Perhaps the club has run its course? We've had a long run, and if so...that's fine.

If not, I may have to give control over to someone else that has more time, and can infuse new ideas, or whatever is needed to keep it going.

Let me know what you think either way...and play some sped up Pac-Man. It's a lot of fun. :)

I've been out of town for a week and haven't even touched a video game, so I didn't see this. Maybe a lot of people were vacationing this weekend- I don't know. I'd figure someone would have commented on this. My top score on this has been 125,xxx. I'm weird, but I like the fast versions of this, Ms. Pac, and Jr. Pac better than the slow versions. The slow versions seem so much more tedious. I've lately begun to have a new appreciation for the Pac games, as I didn't play them much when I was younger.

I've been really busy, however, I did play a sped up Ms. Pac at the local drive-in theater this last Sunday night.. I scored around 150k. I hope to get this sometime, but, I think I'll have to get MisFit mame going before I can give it a shot.

Actually I thought that the speedup was a standard cheat in mame for the most part? :)

In the arcades that used to still hang around one of the games I'd generally play (sorry "Carnevil") was a sped up Ms. Pac machine. I think the most I could ever score on it was in the 300k range.

Once you get past a certain point of course the ghosts no longer turn blue and it becomes a matter of endurance and just yourself trying to avoid a mistake with the fast turns. I think it's a lot harder to score super high in Ms. Pac vs regular pacman sheerly because you're not guaranteed a 5000 point banana twice in a stage. It's all random what you get.

What the heck. For some reason I thought this was about Ms. Pac. Duh.. X_x

Ahh, thanks for the protip on the speedup cheat.. Before it was telling me I didn't have some of the files to play..

Now that I have it working, my high score is 104340 and I made it to the first bell stage. I've never played a sped-up pac before now. Pretty dang cool!

This happens every summer.

I guess I don't go outside enough to notice the season changes. :)
