Monday I received the parts from Best Electronics.

I pulled out the bad plug from Port One (the only good one), and replaced it.

Likewise Port Two.

After a few problems- too much solder causing an odd short circuit, and some extra wiring needed- it works now.

Port Three still has a bad plug, and Port Four just has a new one "snapped in" for spare storage- after all, even Atari figured that they weren't needed, or why the two-port version?

This is unusual for me because for the first time since I bought the thing at a townwide garage sale back in 1998 I can now play games like Robotron: 2084 "properly."

Now, to find Space Dungeon!

Best Electronics are fantastic. I once needed a new 130XE keyboard and they had it. Install was a snap and brought the computer back to like new again.

How was the install on them? Do you happen to have a part number and a price for replacement ports? One of mine looks real bad and I think I will have to replace it soon.

In my case, awkward, because of the clumsy equipment I used. Plus, the board was worn, so I had to use wiring to make a few connections. But it was still do-able. If you have better equipment and decent skill, it should be much easier for you.

It was worth it.

As for Best Electronics: Your best bet is to call them.
