I am out of town for Memorial Day and a store down here has a Toploader NES with 1 dogbone controller, 1 regular controller, Zapper, RF and AC adapter. They are asking $50 for it. Are these worth anything anymore? I remember 3-4 years ago the stores in my area were selling them for $80-$100.

If everything is in good shape, I'd say that's pretty fair. They sell for a bit more online, sometimes a lot more, it just depends on who's buying.

In my experience, the dog bone controller is a little harder to come by than the top loader itself. I have 2-3 of the system, but I'm not sure if I have even 3 DB controllers.

Of course the top loader is lacking those handy A/V RCA outputs, but if you're happy with RF, it's a nice, reliable alternative to the front loader.

I remember a local game store of mine selling it for around $60 a year or two ago. I'd assume $50 is still fair and it seems to be that way on Ebay. Of course I'm still confused why there is one top loader that was listed 3 times at a starting price of $45 and $10 shipping that didn't sell...

And yeah, I'd guess the dogbone is rarer. Mine came with one dogbone, one regular. I think I've maybe seen one other dogbone in the wild at a gamestore. The toploader I mentioned earlier was sold with a regular controller. The weird part about that is that Nintendo was still selling the dogbone controller in the early 2000s.

Agreed. Most of the top loaders I've seen in local game stores over the years have been priced between $60-$70.

$50 is on the cheap side from what I've seen. I've seen it priced around $80 in stores, and maybe a little more online.

You could make a $20-30 profit for sure off of it if it's in nice shape.
