GameStop has them, last time I checked, for $15, but loose (no CD or anything, just the adapter). A local game store has them for $20, according to a friend of mine.

If you are going to play online, yes.
But if you plan on just using things like HDLoader or FreeMcBoot, no. You just need the adapter.

i should call around to my local game shops to see if anyone got onethat's what i would do. most game stores don't know the value and that's where i get mine to resell. they might not know what you're talking about though, and have one even though they said they don't.

How much do sealed ones go for? I found one at a Goodwill a few months back and it has just been sitting on a shelf.

Question: Can online games work instead of a network adapter CD for setting things up? I'm pretty sure it does, but I can't remember. I've got a couple extra copies of Everquest Online Adventures if it would work in lieu of a network adapter CD.

The only reason people buy these anymore is for modding.
