I was wondering if the Nights into Dreams 3D controller is good for any of the other Sega Saturn games.
I have been thinking about getting one of these with the game Nights off of Ebay. But it seems like I would have to pay around 15 bucks for both items with the shipping included. I can get Nights by itself for about 5 bucks with the shipping included.
Has anybody played Nights without the 3D controller? Does it suck?
Should I get the 3D controller at all costs, if I ever get Nights?
any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

NiGHTS isn't unplayable with a stock Saturn pad, but it's much more fun with a 3D controller. The entire game just seems to flow a lot smoother.
The 3D pad also works pretty well with Burning Rangers and Panzer Dragoon Saga. I also like the controller's large buttons when it comes to some fighting games.

Nights plays fine without the 3D, but I've never played with the 3D pad so it could be a, um, night and day difference.
I think NiGHTS, Sega Rally, Daytona, Burning Rangers and Dark Savior can use it for sure.

NiGHTS is 100% BETTER with the 3D analog pad.
Another game is Manx TT -- not fun at all with Dpad, much more fun in first person camera with the NiGHTS pad.

Be glad it's only $15 shipped, getting one of the best games ever for cheap. I'd definitely rate that in the top 3 Saturn games, domestic or import.

the 3D controller is almost a prototype Dreamcast controller, and it does come with a D-Pad so it's useable with everything. I'd grab it if you can, as it's just the best of all worlds.

Sonic 3D Blast supports it, too, as I recall.

Sega Touring Car Championship supports it, and is almost impossible to play with a digital pad.
I'm eager to test it with the analogue pad.
