just a useless post but whatever.

On more than one occasion, people have thought that i worked at gamestop. Probably becasue it looks like im organizing the nes games :P. One time a guy and his kid asked where some baseball game for xbox was becasue it was on sale for 20 dollars. I went along with it like i worked there, and said "i dont know" "but it says you have it in your catalog" "NO, we dont, o wait ask him" THen another gamestop guy comes over to where i am and puts some new nes trade ins on the shelf. THe people go and complain about me to the guy at the counter, but the guy thinks he is talking about the guy putting the games on the shelf. I got out of there fast, it was pretty damn funny.

:)

Something similar to that happened to me in a Roger's Video. Somebody asked me where the horror movies were and how much it cost to rent them. A little suprised, and since I used to go there quite often, I pointed them to the right area and told them how much it cost. Not quite as amusing as your story liquidmetal, but a little amusing nonetheless.

This has happened to me a lot also... I tend to try and help the person when I can, tho... I think it's the old retail instinct in my blood (8 years working for Sears will do that to you...), or that old habits are hard to break...

During an early holiday rush, I was at a Software Etc. and the same thing happened to me. I helped the guy out though, since I'm too nice and told the manager that people were thinking that I worked there. That's when I got the job, heh.

I have had that happen at several local game shops, since I am there alot. I usually point them in the right direction. A few times I have actually been offered a part time job since I know the stores inventory better than most employees...

:-D ..This happens to me all the time at video game stores..but they never ask if I work here..they just go about asking me assuming I work at the store....This happens a lot when I'm in the video game section at Target.. :D ..Since I always wear some video game shirt I have..but most of the time it's a black Xbox shirt.
...I think with the shirt being black with the green Xbox insignia I look like store personel..being in the video game section..
I usually get asked for help in finding a certain game..so I help if I can ,or I ask an employee..When it gets over my head and I ask an employee that's when they ask.."Do you work here?"..I say no..and nothing else...and then I walk away... :-D
Sometimes they might thank me..even after they found out I didn't work there..Or they just leave figuring I worked there if they never asked. :-D

I don't mind because I like to help people and I usually know what they are talking about.:D

I actually had a lady yell at me once because something she wanted was to high for her to grab,..I got it for he but she proceded to take it out on me...I said.."Sorry I don't work here"...aaahh..Boy did she feel stupiid.. :o

I had the exact opposite happen on a few occasions. I work in the electronics dept at target and now ALL target employees where khaki pants and red shirts and blatently noticably name tags. Usually im working on organizing games or some new display or on some occasions doing something on the register and the most famous question I get is "Do you work here?" after a while I got really annoyed so for 2 days I decided I didnt wanna work at target, and id avoid people as much as possible and when someone asked "Do you work here" id just reply, nope, just browsing . Most of them said ok and left but others say "then whats with the name tag" and I'd say "my brother works here sometimes, and when he doesnt feel like it he sends me in his place because we are twins" and well people believe it and leave me alone. :D

I used to hang out in Funco (when it was still just Funco) so much that me and whoever was working there would have races to see who could find a price, me with my guide and they with the computer. I'd always win :D

A couple of times I would help the customer as soon as they got anywhere near the register with a question. The people working would point them my way, and on many occasions they slipped me an employment form (I was too young, though :-D ).
