So I was looking through my 360 games and I noticed that some games contain free, temporary subscriptions to Xbox Live Gold. For instance, the BK games used to come with free, 48-hour Gold cards and my Live Vision camera came with a nice, one month subscription.

I had Gold for at least one month (thanks to the code on the cam). However, today I wanted to use one of the other cards, like the ones that came with the BK games and:

1)The codes had expiration dates.

2)They did not work.

I plan on getting the Xbox Live Gold Pack (the one that has 12 months, chat pad, etc), but I am currently saving money for this.

My questions are:

1)Do these "expired" codes really expire? I keep conflicting reports: some say yes, others say no.

2)Does anyone have a spare, recent (still valid) 48 hour card they can spare? I would really like to buy a game on the marketplace, the "Special of the Week" before it expires.

I don't want to buy a 3 month card, since I plan on getting the pack mentioned above soon (a week or two from now).

Speaking of the Xbox 360, if I install a game on the console, finish the game, and then remove the installation (from the dashboard, where one choose to either play the game, download DLC, and "delete" the game, will all the saves associated with the game be deleted as well?

Also, how can I backup my game saves? In which folder exactly?

Thanks in advance everyone!

I've had cards expire but once you go gold you can no longer use those codes. Now if you were currently a silver member than they should have let you use them(provided they didn't expire) unless something has changed in their rule structure. Anyway, I'm PMing you a 48 hour code right now.

EDIT: As for your install question, you manually delete the install but that doesn't delete the saved data from that game. You would have to delete that seperately.

And you can back up your game saves on a memory unit or usb drive(up to 16 gigs each).

The 48 hour cards don't qualify you to be able to buy Deal of the Week, you need full Gold membership for that (3 months and longer I believe).

I just checked....crud, you are right! :(:(:(

Back to the drawing board. :(

Anyway, can someone verify if there are any downloads for Marvel Ultimate Alliance, the heroes/villains pack? Microsoft supposedly has it for free, but when I try to get it, it says it only works for US accounts or that the offer has expired. Just want to see if others can see this download (and get it), to confirm that it's either a region thing or it really is no longer available. Here is the link:

I have a current gold account, tried that link you put up, and I got the same message you reported, "This offer is not valid in your region, or it has expired."

I am not at my console to see if it shows up on the marketplace though. Maybe they pulled the content, and forgot to remove the listing? Or perhaps you have to download through an in-game menu?

I believe the MUA DLC was removed because of licensing issues. However, you can get the gold edition which should have all the DLC on it.
