Once again, I must come to the wonderful members of Digitpress for advice.
Now, I know the Virtual Boy was one of the biggest failures of video game history.
However, I decided recently that I wanted one. Since my birthday's coming up soon, now would be the best time to get one.
My question to all of you is this: Is it worth it?
Would it be worth getting a Virtual Boy?
I love retro video games. Love the classics, and the VB seems to have some good ones. Mario Tennis, Wario...
So was the system really as bad as everyone said, or is it worth getting?
All opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Good God, it's worth it. I've played Wario Land for hours, it's such a great game! Not to mention other Classics like "Vertical Force" and "Teleroboxer"

Buy it and buy a Flashboy. With the Flashboy you can play the best Virtual Boy game made which is Bound High. http://www.planetvb.com/modules/news/

"Worth it" might depend on precisely how much you're paying for one. I'd love to get my hands on one, but certainly not enough to spend fifty bucks on it.

I own a virtual boy and all American released games, and I still really like the system. I'd be careful though, it's known for giving even the hardest person a headache.

I say go for it. Again, just make sure you get a decent deal on one. I see the "Worth it" question to be relative to the price you pay for one.

Well, the general consensus seems to be that it's worth buying, if I can get one for a decent price.
As always, thank you all for the help! You really are wonderful. =)

Off topic .. but ... I had no idea there was a new batch of FlashBoys coming out! I lost mine a while back and pretty much lost hope of getting another one. The only thing I wish was that it could hold multiple games.

It's worth buying to check out. It does have some cool games... BUT in the end, it's not worth hanging on to... The system itself now sells on ebay for $50 and over, and games are about $10 each on average. There's only a handfull of good vboy games. I guess if money is not an issue, ya its worth keeping. I wish I had that luxury...

I never seem to get headaches from it. I don't sit up with my eyes glued to the thing either though. Far enough away so it doesn't strain my eyes, but close enough that I can see through both lenses. You just have to remember to keep blinking and you will be fine. I think the one problem most people have is that they don't blink enough when they play video games. The fact that the Virtual Boy is red makes that even harder on those that have problems like that.
But yeah the Virtual Boy is plenty easy to store if you get a cheap $20 - $30 laptop bag for it. I hang onto it just because I like Wario Land and Mario Clash so much. Mine was $40 with Mario's Tennis.

I think I want one but freight is such a bitch. I can spend on the game itself, but the freight abroad makes it just not worth it to purchase.
