I recently got a acekard 2 for my DS. While searching for info on backing up my games, I found the NDS Backup adapter (http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catalog/NDS-Backup-Adapter-p-2815.html). Have any of you heard of this before? It looks like you can use it to back up game save data, but I'm not sure if it backs up more than that. I haven't been able to find much information on the thing.

Just to note, I'm only interested in backing up games that I own. First on the list is my cart only copy of Tetris DS. That's one out of print game I wouldn't want to loose.

Actually, that looks kind of neat. It's probably what people are using to dump NDS games...

Good work on picking up an acekard 2, it is an amazing flashcart for such a cheap price. Before you buy the NDS backup adapter, which looks like the easiest method of backing up saves, I suggest you try using something called "Rudolph's NDS Backup Tool 3 in 1". I haven't used it myself from an acekard but it is supposed to be able to backup DS saves and roms. I think you have to boot up with the flashcart, switch to the DS game to read the save and then switch back to the flashcart so it can be saved to microsd.
although you might need to convert the saves to use them on the flashcart.

Sadly this tool takes forever to backup games. Its good for dumping savefiles though if you can get the rom. Theres some ok DS to USB dumpers out there, probably want to look into one of those.

Are you referring to the Rudolph's NDS Backup Tool 3 in 1 as being real slow or the USB dumper tool I linked to? I'm mainly looking for backup method that is easy and doesn't require me to buy anything else. If I have to buy something, I kind of liked the adapter since it dumped the game directly to the PC. I can then easily add the game to my mini SD card. That WiFi method wouldn't have worked for me anyways, since I don't have a wireless adapter for my PC. I also noticed that there doesn't seem to be any other USB dumper tools beside the one I linked to.

Thanks for the info. I eventually ended up trying the wireless backup method. It is slow, but it didn't cost me anything extra. I had a buffalo wireless router that is easily switched into a wireless access point. Lifehacker (http://lifehacker.com/5588151/hack-your-nintendo-ds-for-easy-backups-and-single+cartridge+playback) has a good guide on running the tool.

I have almost all my games backed up and their saves. I'm glad I got my valkyrie profile covenant of the plume save backed up. I played through it three times to get the Seraphic Gate.
