View Full Version : Rate the McDonalds Sega LCD Game
Well, I woke up at 7:00 this morning in order to go get these LCDs. When I got there I ordered a happy meal. I was suprised that the LCD game was pretty small, but that only makes it cooler. I got the #1 Sega Sonic Speedway game I think this is the only one they had since I went four more times and I always got the same one. The game itself is like a regular lcd racing game. 8/10

Here we have breakfast happy meals for kids, including a new one... grilled cheese sandwiches! ;)
I haven't picked up the games yet, but they look pretty cool. Seen some kids playing them while I ate lunch.

I hit McDonalds just as they changed over to lunch today..I got the Sega Sonic Speedway game...
Then I went back tonight..and got another..hoping they had a different one.
I got another Sega Sonic Speedway game..
I'm not opening any of these..unless I get a multitude of a certain game.
I like the big window sign McDonalds has with Sonic on it..I'd like to have that..
I always wondered if stuff like these mini games gets stolen....taken out the back door and sold on Ebay..

Sonic Speedway I really liked. It was fun, simple, a bit difficult the first time you play it, but it gets to be something of a breeze soon after.
Shadow's Grinder wasn't so hot. Too easy, even when the level speed gets up, you can still jump the gaps without any trouble.
Both games are worth it for their price and novelty, I just wish the games weren't so damn short!

Well, I can verify for you that a lot of the cereal premiums different companies like Post and Kellogg's offer are seen on eBay before you can actually get them out of the box! Seeing as how employees are known to take stuff (myself included, though only what I'm allowed to) it wouldn't surprise me if some of these will be sold on eBay.
I'd like to see if I can't get one myself, but I don't eat at Mick D's.

So how big are these things exactly?

I'm guessing they come in a package about 2 inches square, about double the width of a small Kids Meal character or car (some of the more ornate plastic stuff is probably about the same size, though).

There ain't nothing as sweet as working a little Photoshop 6/7 magic on the thing before you send it out there :)
You can do the job with MSPaint (save it as PNG in XP, it's saved as an RGB PNG rather than those awful pre-XP dithered GIFs Paint would export) and if you're lucky enough to have a graphics converter you can turn it into a GIF yourself.

I'm surprised they're so freaking small, although I guess I shouldn't be. Given the fact that this is a McDonald's toy we're talking about, I shouldn't have expected a large screen or high quality plastic.
