how long does an official battery last onn a full charge?

according to my psp, my battery does around 4 hours on a full charge. so im not sure if that is right cuz that 4 hours doesnt seem long for a psp.

There are multiple factors going into battery longevity.

Has the battery had alot of recharges? These do have a finite number of recharges and over time the capacity does diminish.

What are you using the PSP for? Games? Web surfing? Music?

If you're using it for games, UMD or memory stick? The UMD drive sucks more juice than anything pulled from the memory stick.

i bought my psp used at an eb, so i dont know how many times it been charged pryer me buying it.

i used my psp for games and videos.

If you're using a PSP 2000 I would strongly recommend picking up a PSP 1000 sized 3.6v 2200mAh battery (and the larger battery door cover to accommodate, the kit featured below comes with one black and one silver battery door).

I can speak from experience when I say that it absolutely increases run time from the standard PSP 2000 battery.

The product description claims about 11 hours of gaming tops, but that's probably not with the screen on the full brightness setting. I'd say it averages out about 6 hours of gameplay life.

ive had a psp 3003 from launch day, its been charged roughly 500 times and its never lasted more than 3 - 3 and a half hours. i had the psp 1001 before and that dis last about 4 or 5 hours.

looks like the battery kit i posted also fits the 3000 if anybody has one and wants an upgrade.
