I just found this odd Nexoft Pro Beam Wireless NES Light Gun in the box and I thought I would show it off in a crazy video since there isn't too much info on it out there (it wasn't even listed in the Digital Press Guide vol 1).

Hey, I've got one of those. Never thought anything of it, just figured it was another (kinda junky) accessory/controller like so many other random 3rd party controllers I have. I've never even hooked it up, but have pulled it out and will try to sometime today. Looking over my old finds photos, looks like I picked it up around 07.14.08. No box, though.

That's a neat design for a gun. I wonder what the battery life is like for it.

Yeah, I think the gun looks kinda junky because they were forced to make it look more like a kid's toy.

That's pretty interesting- but I'd like to see it at work. Most of the NES add-ons weren't exactly responsive, except for the Advantage and in most cases the Zapper also worked fine.
Also, awesome Air Zonk/ PC Denjin posters you have in the background. I really wish I could get a hold of them- I love the Bonk/Zonk franchise.

Violence was far more constrained back in the day. A realistic gun would have angry parents up the manufacturer's (and of course Nintendo's) asses in a second. I even remember some controversy with the jackpot bonus game in SMB 2, because it depicted gambling. It would have been cooler if bitchy parents didn't care if it looked semi-realistic.

You remember the jackpot controversy in SMB2 (which I don't remember at all, even though I played the game back when it was released)? Aren't you 14 years old? Considering that the game came out 22 years ago, that's pretty amazing. Must have happened in a past life...

I think the Zonk series is very underrated, so much so that I did the artwork in the background myself.

Rare? Maybe, but not very desirable. Probably only worth $25-$45 for it. It never came sealed, so it's just unused in box. Still a nice item to have on the shelf.
