I'd be willing to bet that at least 90% of bad AC adaptors are caused by this.

No, PETA is illustrating the point that when people eat meat, they're eating dead bodies. People usually don't make that connection, that they're chewing on dead bodies.

thats because we were designed to eat meat and thus shouldn't give a rats ass. Oh no we killed a cow and ate a steak. We're feasting on flesh like zombies. Call in Romero, its a new film in the making.

PETA is kind of rtarded. PETARD. ooo.

They should teach meat eating animals how to be vegetarian. That'd be more interesting.

HAI MR. LION, YOU KNOW WHEN YOU EAT THAT, YOU'RE EATING DEAD BODY. YOU SHOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU KILL A GAZELLE. IT HAS FEELINGS TOO

*lion eats PETARD*

This is not wikipedia and such things are not needed. If I say that'd "I'd be willing to bet", then your citation that I would do such a thing is the thread in which I said it.

Having said that...I do not know for a fact the exact percentage, as that was an educated guess on my part. "Educated" in that I hold a degree in electrical and computer engieering, and have spent several years building and repairing electronics devices.

Why are you so defensive? I didn't say eating meat is evil and should be banned, I just pointed out that most people eat dead bodies. It's a fact. Calm down.

There's a difference between a lion killing one zebra out in the wild and feeding its entire family with it...and humans inbreeding millions of cows and chickens, keeping them cooped up so they can't move, injecting them with hormones and antibiotics, electrocuting them and skinning them alive, and shipping the ground up dead bodies all over the country, just so people can get their cheap fast food fix on a daily basis.

I'm too lazy to back up my allegations with facts.

Fixed.

Fixed.

That may very well be but it is beside the point. I never stated a fact, I made it clear that I was stating an opinion and then further stated that it was an educated opinion. Therefore, I now place the burdon of proof on you. Please do provide us with facts that heat does not destroy the enamel coating of the coil windings. And don't forget citations.

I will add though, after thinking about it some more...that internal vibrations due to the alternating magnetic field may also be to blame on short circuits. The vibrating wires would wear through the enamel coating. In either regard, leaving them plugged in when not in use could cause shorts. The effect would be the same.

I am saying that I have seen it happen before and have studied such things(though several years ago). You are posting silly pictures and changing what people post in an attempt to be...witty??

If you are honestly intersted in seeing real data published on the matter then (if I can find some free time) I can try to look it up. But outside of perhaps the manufacturers technical specifications and failure reports that I may have on my work PC, then there is nothing that you couldn't just as easily look up yourself.

If, instead, you would rather continue to add nothing to the discussion, then consider yourself ignored from this point further and forgive me for trying to get this thread back on topic.

Oh, Its got nothing to do with you lol, I just think PETA is stupid as fuck.

I've been reading your remarks in other threads, too. Since you joined 11 months ago, have you posted anything helpful, intelligent, or insightful at all? What is your contribution to the DP community?

See, right here? The thread has gone from 'interesting discussion' to 'interesting discussion with light ribbing' and now to 'normal DP bitch fight'.

This would be a GREAT time for a mod just end the pain.

Comic relief? Between his trolling, he's done some good posting IMO.

Sorry, I usually know better than to get involved in idiotic online arguments. I fell for the troll. It won't happen again.

Honestly I'm a bit confused by PETA's actual ad campaigns. Just take a look.

If you touch a Genesis AC adapter that's plugged in, it's warm, even if the system is off. I think the N64 does this too, but it's inside the system.

Oh, ok. That's just the powerpack though. That's a pretty small amount of power if your machine is turned off. I thought maybe people were thinking there was some sort of 'standby' mode in the older consoles, which there isn't. When you turn off your SNES, there's absolutely no current in the machine itself.

But since there is a small amount of current going through the powerpack, now I think of it, I'll go and turn off my Jaguar at the wall (",)

Yeah, it's a tiny, tiny amount of power. I guess it's more of a concern if you have multiple systems plugged in.
