View Full Version : PS2 tray makes noise closing

When closing (and occasionally when opening) the tray, the tray itself makes noise when it's about 2/3 closed. The drive works fine, and the noise doesn't happen if I lightly lift up on the tray when it is closing. Any fixes? I bought the system and didn't test it out during the return period. It works fine but this bugs me a bit.

Mine does the same thing only it makes the noise when I open the drive. I think it's a gear that gets stuck but forced by the drive motor to keep pressing the tray out. It's a grinding sound,but the drive closes perfectly without the sound. If it's not a gear I would like to know myself what the cause of it is.

just replace the drive belt it worked for my sega cd
