Our Hollywood Video was shutting down today, so I was able to snatch a few decals for advertising Wiis and took them home. An hour later- I have this. It's also sharing space with my PS2, and its game library as well as some original Playstation (since I have nowhere else to keep them). All of the posters and stuff on the wall was taken out of my bedroom and put on the back walls. Soon, I'll have the whole thing smothered with Nintendo posters and eventually the ceiling if I can get a ladder in there. What do you think? :p

Here's a picture

Nice. I love the big ol' advertisements stores use, they make fine gaming room wall decorations. (All I have is a small classic Turok poster and a big cardboard cutout Pokemon one with Lugia, though.)

Over here, a local Movie Gallery was going out of business and had a lot for sale, but it seemed that all the interesting things had been picked over already.. (I probably could have nabbed an entire rental shelf, but they were just a bit too pricey to be worth it, sadly.)

I always attend store closings whenever I can. A few years ago, my Funcoland (which I'd been going to since I was a kid) shut down. I got in on the last day, and they gave me this large "15 games are worth 15 dollars or more" cutout with their bunny mascot. It was free. I also have small little sticker decals of Pikmin, Starfox, Super Mario Bros.3, Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga and I think Donkey Kong from the same place. It was real sad to see that place go- all of my classic PSX games came from them. I even wrote the date it closed on the back of the big cutout.

I also collect M&Ms stuff- and I have 2 of the shelves they used to put the candy in as well as a huge Transformers/M&Ms bin from a store closing. For some reason, those things always come out to be collectibles after a few years.

It sucks when your favorite game store closes. I had a game crazy close down that was 15 minutes away from me. Farther than game stop, but that store often had better prices and a bigger selection of used PS2 games (pretty much the only reason I go to any game store now - Amazon.com prime member here, so I get tax and shipping free, and I get it in 2 days). You're lucky though, I completely missed the closeout sale. :sob:
